It's been awhile since my last visit, boy life keeps you busy and flys by. Well l not sure if this was already talked about,if it was i'm sorry to repeat an old thread. I read that disney is going to have their own brand of cellphones in the wireless world. The website to back this up is www.Disneymobile.com. Summer of 2006, If they are national and going to better than the ones already in the market then l might consider joining/signing up. Just hope they anr not goofy phones (sorry about the pun).

From the pics, it looks like they may be using pretty normal phones. It will be interesting to see if they what cool Disney touches they add to the phones!

I will estimate that they will be similar to the current ESPN cellphones...which function like any other phone, but will have some built-in Disney ringtones and themes, and will have some hotkeys that will link to Disney news and content and wallpaper and short videos etc...Cute idea. I am sure the phones will be "normal" but the price of the actual service will carry a premium. You might want to take a look at ESPN's cellphone cite to have some idea of what a proprietary phone system can look like (and cost)

I actually got an ad for this in my yearly stockholder report...

Apparently the phones will be able to be customized with exclusive Disney backgrounds and ringtones and games and the like. I think it looks really neat. I'm not sure where the information leaf they sent to me is, though. I might have thrown it away.

I use a tmobile sidekick, which is what I'm typing this on. I really wish they'd come out with some disney stuff for it. As much as I'd like disney on my phone, unless they provided the same type of serice ( keyboarded phone, unlimited internet, etc) that I'm getting now, I just don't see myself switching just to get mickey on my phone.

I just got an email that the Disney mobile phone is now available. Go to the website at the top of this page to see the plans and everything. The individual plans seem comparable to sprint and other services (I didn't compare the family plans to any of the others). They just have one phone out right now, but the second said it was coming soon. The prices don't seem any higher than other services like some people thought they would be. I didn't look at everything though, so don't kill me if you find something that is priced higher. ;)

I have tmobile and pay 69.99 for two phones with 1000 anytime minutes, unlimited nights and weekends and free long distance. They didn't have anything comparable to that. I think they are priced a little too high. Hopefully in the next 6 months to a year, they will come up with some better plans with more minutes at a reasonable price. Then, I would definitely sign up...sticking with T-Mobile for now

Oh well.....:(
