Disney meets?

Hi everyone--I didn't know where to post this...so here goes....

Is there anywhere on these boards where people plan WDW meets or try to find people to travel with? I'm at a loss because no one in my family loves Disney the way I do and I'd like to go more if I could find some people to meet up with.

Any information you could give me I'd appreciate!

hey Christina,
You actually posted in the correct area (or so i think) but anyway, we have had a few wdwmagic meets and i think that if you got enough people to agree to it that you might i=have something there. You might also want to spaek with the "mom" who is on this board she might be able to help you. Btw i live in tampa and can go if you need to meet someone.but nevermind about that. The "balls" are at the Imagination Pavilion and you can take pictures of yourself with it and send it to people. You can also edit the pics and put weird things on your face. Check it out next time you're there!

Did you have any particular time in mind? I was thinking about going in Jan or Feb, but I haven't made any plans. I think it would be fun to meet up with other Disney nuts . . . er . . .enthusiasts if anyone else is interested.

I found that coordinating a small meet was difficult enough! The fact that 3 of us (plus The Daughter) were rooming together made it much easier, but it was still hectic!

It was easier to meet with CMs either at work or before/after. I will be in wdw in October...either the first weekend, or the weekend of the 12th. I might also be there in November...I haven't planned that far ahead!

I've met up with forum members on two different trips. So far, I've had a wonderful time with no problems. However, I think having a lunch at one of the parks (ala FantasiaBoi or Tim from Calgary) was the easiest. Having cocktails with everyone was fun, but required one of us (me) having a condo or villa with a living area and kitchen. It also requires a bit of flexibility, as you have to be in a specific place at a specific time to do it....not easy if you're with your family or a group! (who may not share your interest in meeting someone you only know from an internet forum!)

Well I guess what I was looking for is more of a traveling companion (or two) who are also on their own--either with their kids or just by themselves. I didn't want to plan a huge meet with big families and husbands and wives, etc. I know there are people traveling there alone because they don't have anyone else to travel with so it would be fun to be able to experience the Magic with someone else who is also obsessed!
