I also have to follow the ever-changing rules for Hawaii, and almost every other country in the world, due to my job. Just because there is a pandemic going on doesn't mean that the DOD isn't sending people all over the world to still do military installs and other work that requires travel. When we had people going over to Hawaii, I had to make sure I gave the travelers extremely detailed instructions about where they could get their tests, and the exact approved test they were allowed to get. Some of the locations that were on Hawaii's approved list offered multiple test types and only one of the test types offered was allowed. I told them that if they did not double check the exact type of test they were getting and compare it to the specific types allowed on the Hawaii safe travels website, they weren't getting in. And then I warned them that if they couldn't get in due to their own negligence, they could explain to the government why they just spent $2,000 on their plane ticket . Miraculously, these 30 to 40-year-old men who can't even figure out how to do their timesheet correctly, ticked off every administrative thing required to get themselves into that country correctly.
