I also have to follow the ever-changing rules for Hawaii, and almost every other country in the world, due to my job. Just because there is a pandemic going on doesn't mean that the DOD isn't sending people all over the world to still do military installs and other work that requires travel. When we had people going over to Hawaii, I had to make sure I gave the travelers extremely detailed instructions about where they could get their tests, and the exact approved test they were allowed to get. Some of the locations that were on Hawaii's approved list offered multiple test types and only one of the test types offered was allowed. I told them that if they did not double check the exact type of test they were getting and compare it to the specific types allowed on the Hawaii safe travels website, they weren't getting in. And then I warned them that if they couldn't get in due to their own negligence, they could explain to the government why they just spent $2,000 on their plane ticket 🤣🤣🤣. Miraculously, these 30 to 40-year-old men who can't even figure out how to do their timesheet correctly, ticked off every administrative thing required to get themselves into that country correctly.

If the CDC revises mask guidelines I wonder how Disney will respond https://www.msn.com/en-us/news/us/t...d-affect-you/vi-AAMAtqs?ocid=msedgdhp&pc=U531

Disney will most certainly adapt their policy to fit the new guidance.

They have had to deal with multiple changes at the international parks, some opening and closing multiple times. Modifying a mask policy is simple compared to what they've dealt with elsewhere.

They probably don't want to go backwards, but at least the parks aren't currently in danger of re-closing.

They are getting pretty close to likely limiting capacity and staffing again though.

Bring back masks now for indoor attractions.

#superspreading
Don't go to a theme park if you aren't comfortable with the risk.

#themeparksarenotinfectiousdiseasewards

Whatever the level of protection that masks provide, it is certainly far less than you think it is. While they may reduce transmission on a macro level, they don't turn a "super spreader" situation into a low risk situation, especially not with the Delta variant.

In a few more days, I expect that data from LA County will show that re-introducing the indoor mask mandate ends up having very little effect on "the numbers."

Not necessarily. We've been following Hawaii closely because my parents own at Aulani. There have been so many stories like this where people have gotten denied access to Hawaii. One story I remember in particular was a family who accessed Hawaii once without issue, did the exact same thing months later, and then got denied access. Their system is ridiculously broken. And during the worst of the pandemic, they had an increase there when there was basically no tourism, which means it was locals spreading it to other locals. Then they have a large anti-tourist sentiment there right now, which doesn't help things.

All in all, I would not go to Hawaii right now.
One girl found out the expensive way when she arrived in HI on vacation and airport officials told her that her testing information she showed them was not from.an approved site. She then decided to buy a last minute ticket to fly to CA, get tested at an approved site then fly back to HI to start her vacation.

"Reversing a decision made just two months ago, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention is expected to recommend on Tuesday that people vaccinated for the coronavirus resume wearing masks indoors in certain areas of the country."

Whatever, just do something already! All this hemming and hawing...can't stand it.

Anyone watching The Mysterious Benedict Society on Disney +? It's about the "emergency" that's weighing down everyone, we're all waiting for something terrible to happen - perfect timing for this show. And it's an EXCELLENT show by the way. :D

And if Disney follows suit....Let the Wild Cancellation Rumpus Start!!! 😂 (and then I'll there in October with apparently no one!)

IMO there isn’t any need for change in current Disney policy. Ensure people mask on mass transit systems but otherwise no need to mask in the parks.

So the million dollar question is does Disney go back to mandatory masking or just put up signs strongly recommending them?

They will have CM's at entrances to buildings and queues.

I'm skeptical if the governor is going to intervene. Apparently, there's already been a meeting.

Cali(yeah I know different thing) went back to mandatory masks in all of their theme parks an attractions and queue lines that are indoors. I could see that being a thing to return to as they already require them at WDW on enclosed transportation. Ride queues and vehicles are not that much different, but I think it will take a couple to a few weeks before that choice is made again.

Given the state of the hospitals with COVID patients in Central Florida right now I would be extremely surprised if Disney doesn't again require masks while indoors within the week. It's getting really, really bad around here right now.

Personally, I've gone back to wearing masks indoors everywhere I go now whether the location 'requests' it or not. While I've been fully vaccinated since mid-April, I can't risk testing positive since my job requires regular testing, nor do I want to spread to someone who will not get vaccinated. I've lost too many family members to this disease already.

I’ll be very interested in the evidence the CDC is going to offer for reversing its position for vaccinated people. If it’s just “hey delta is spreading a lot” that’s not very compelling without showing that there’s real risk for the vaccinated (which of course they’d never want to say).

Probably the same amount of evidence they used when they reversed their position and told everyone to rip them off the first time.
