I was told last week that it would be gone at some point this week. That seems to have changed. I would guess vaccination is the reason. No idea what kind of decision they’ve come to.

Weeks' not over. The times they've moved the mask mandates have been on a Friday. Maybe it'll happen tomorrow.

We use diapers until we potty train. Can we breathe-train them? No mouth breathers!

Actually with this virus it would be the opposite. From what studies show, you are more likely to have the proteins stick based on nose breathing, but probably not enough to substantially matter.

I don't agree. They can drop now and it wouldn't be surprising or bad at all to me, especially given the numbers and highish vaccination numbers.
Why this won't happen.... WDW would likely do something of this nature effective JAN 1, 2022.
.... before then? Here comes the cancelation/rebook wave. RIGHT around XMAS . WDW needs that already booked cash. They will do NOTHING to insert a big change, right now.

I can see it, but I don't like it.

I'll be honest. I'm tired of this all. I've been vaccinated for over a year now, and I feel I've done everything to help. I'm really tired of this all and want as normal as possible.

I’m sure Disney won’t even notice all seven families that will cancel if indoor masking is optional.

But what if some of those families hold APs? APs are WDW’s “most-valued guests”. We get a special sound effect when we enter a park. Do unmasked Park Hopper holders get a special sound effect? I think not.

Unfortunately normal in the general sense is not anyway near normal. From food , merchandise, and labor shortages , limited services in a number of different industries , it is no way being normal. For someone to think people are doing just fine is wishful thinking. Where people are doing just fine are the investors in the record breaking stock market where their money is working harder than they do!

We picked Universal at Christmas over this. I want to give the wife and kids a normal vacation. We won’t be back at WDW until April. Surely no masks by then!!!
Universal is tempting. They are currently offering BOGO tickets for Florida residents.

Tomorrow’s Covid report will likely put Orange County in moderate transmission. It’s time Disney drops the mask requirement for good.

I have three kids (17, 9, and 3). None have worn masks in school. They survived just fine.

A mask doesn’t limit what you can do though. It actually makes it easier to be a complete jerk from what I’ve seen, which seems to be the new, popular trend.

Look I'm not a maskhole. In fact I've 100% been the opposite but I absolutely would love to leave my masks pretty much behind in 10 days when I go. No , it doesn't limit me, but for goodness sake understand that this thread is about WDW and masking and some of us are just plain tired of it. I've been to Disney already with masks and given the numbers and vaccination levels I'd like them gone and feel 100% normal when I go. No worrying about them. Honestly not sure why you decided to quote me compared to others with this.

I get all that and I would love to never carry a mask again myself, but masks may never go away. Masks are better than lock downs

I’m not implying that your a maskhole at all, I know you’re not, but maybe masks should be the new norm. There will always be a new threat and a new virus on the horizon, our lifetimes and definitely our kids lifetimes - multiple times over for them. Why not stop it before it starts? Masks do nothing to our mobility, lock downs do. Masks keep us safe yet agile. I’d rather mask up then be subjected to a lock down. I won’t ever wear 2 or 3 masks, but I will wear one to stop the spread, especially when something comes along that we have no answer (vaccination) for. Masks are a visible form of prevention, a vaxx card we can all see. Masks make it all easier, no vaxx status checks, no fights in restaurants, just an agreeable form of spread reduction.

This is a good point. There’s a lot of things at Disney that is still far from normal and masks indoors isn’t the area I would focus on first.
