Probably just outdoor masks for now. Which is fantastic!
I don't think I mind that but will Disney act on it immediately if the CDC approves it? I know this might be unpopular opinion but we booked our trip thinking the safety measures would still be in place and can't refund now if they choose to drop them.

I personally think it will be difficult to drop outdoor mask mandates at Disney. It will make enforcement to difficult especially since people are constantly moving back and forth between outdoor, semi-indoor and full indoor spaces. There are just to many spaces at Disney that are in the grey area between indoor and outdoor.
I would think in the queue and inside ...on. everywhere else...off

I think some of the precautions were just Disney being overly cautious so that if something did happen, they could say they did everything they could to protect people.
No it was a way for them to get around the CDC 6 feet seperation. Remeber they had every orther row and single familys per car and such. They added plexi glass sot hey could load every row.

California will be rolling out their precautions for the first time soon. It's hard to see either park removing something hastily when they've turned the park upside down to accomodate it. Festival of the lion king will return with dance routines based on covid restrictions. They keep adding rules (i.e, expanded mask use at restaurants, more plexiglass, etc). I think it's reasonable to loosen eveything over the summer but there should be a BIG heads up for something like that. I booked because Chapek said the masks would be around likely for the year. I wanted that confidence personally at least until kids can be vaccinated.

But how do you define inside? I am inside when walking under the train station to enter the park? How about on the Riverboat? What about the Peoplemover, do you have to take it on and off as you enter buildings?
We went last August and the masks weren't nearly as bad as I thought they would be. It's not ideal by any means but manageable. It seems almost counterproductive to be taking it on and off constantly throughout the day and trying to assess what is considered outdoors. That seems destined to create a challenge for cast members.

I don’t think it would be that difficult, but I can see others disagreeing. My answer to all of the above would be no. Masks would only be required outside if in an outside queue.

Doesn’t Disneyland Tokyo allow guests to remove masks outside during the summer? It’s not unprecedented. Hopefully with so many people being vaccinated each day, the numbers will decline rapidly and it won’t be necessary to wear masks unless you are actually inside a building or standing next to someone in line.

4 walls and a door or doors. Conditioned air. Thats when I feel inside not just shaded. I don't know. I'm vaccinated so I'm kind of cool with it. Its just fantasy for me anyway. Won't be there till Christmas at the earliest.

Prior to the parks reopening to the guests, the cast member unions and the company agreed to cast members wearing masks while working.

I wouldn't be surprised if they dropped the outside mask requirements because they are getting hammered hard all over social media right now for their huge inconsistences in how their mask rules are so different from BB and pool decks versus the rest of their outdoor areas.

I was there over spring break(April) and not once did I see a table of mask wearers while waiting for their food. Not in the parks , resorts , or Disney Springs. I know that was their new rule but no one was following or enforcing it.

I think it is too much of an operational nightmare. Too many grey areas as to inside/outside. Easier to keep masks but increase capacity.
What gray areas? In queue or on an attraction (inside or out) masks on. Indoors on. Really not rocket science. Maybe I just saw this in action last summer, but I'm still not understanding why this is hard. CMs are at the front of lines and can always remind. Better than half on and removing in line to have a drink/snack I've seen reported. Enforcement is inconsistent at best. I have to wonder, those fighting this saying it's too hard - do you really believe it is too hard or are you not ready to follow guidance like this?

Honesty things change. You can wear masks yourself if you need. I would say if masks are a requirement then maybe it's not wise to plan. They already removed them for pics, pools, and most of BB. Not being unfeeling here, but it sounds like emotionally this is not a great idea. Given there were no big heads up for pics or even BB, you might be disappointed.

I feel like inside outside has become as difficult to define as infrastructure on this thread. 😂 🤣

As the parks get busier through summer I’ve wondered when the casts members just say screw it and stop enforcing masks in general
