Haha. Yep. Fun to pick your facts.According to some on here that is the science you don't follow.

I’ll be there in early May, so I’ve been checking out other sites. Reports are saying that masks are not being worn anywhere in the center “island” after you cross over the bridge, where the rides and pools are located. Masks are needed when entering and exiting the park, getting food, shopping or using the restroom/changing areas. No info on whether they’re needed in the restrooms where the slides, etc are located. Now that Blizzard Beach has been back open for a while, can someone please report on how the mask policy is actually playing out there?
Then explain all the cases being contracted during after school sports.A lot of studies coming out now showing that outdoor spread just really doesn’t happen.
Basketball, gymnastics, indoor soccer, etc. zero spread in my daughters outdoor soccer league. Third season she has played during CovidThen explain all the cases being contracted during after school sports.
Not the same thing. Outdoors spread where people are just walking around isn't a cause. Sports with prlonged close contact can cause spread. So walking around a park or zoo would be fine. Standing in line with people on top of you would be riskier. Even then spread from that has been limitedThen explain all the cases being contracted during after school sports.
My children have been playing sports since August with no mask and zero outbreaks. School district actually dropped mask mandate in last week so far so good. Then explain all the cases being contracted during after school sports.
I'm aware of this. The problem is that if we try to add nuance to the rules, people get stupid and don't follow any. My point was that outdoor spread does happen...in certain circumstances. In our town, there's a skate park that has been repeatedly shut down because the kids (mostly teens) just refuse to follow the rules, and their parents are encouraging their bad behavior. Not the same thing. You do realize many states dropped their mask mandates back in April? Most of those states are experiencing super low positivity rates. I wore a mask indoors when there was a mandate because I follow the rules but now that we don't have to it's 50/50 for me and it really depends on where I am at and what they require.I'm aware of this. No. It's time for the anti-masking jerks who are dragging this out to stop being self centered and ignorant and do what needs to be done. Wear a mask. Get vaccinated. It's a freaking pandemic. Not everyone can stay home, and if you search this thread for my name, you'll see by a recent post of mine that even those who DO stay home are being affected by these selfish jerks.

I'm not anti mask. I have taken this seriously from the day we closed. I joined the Pfizer-BioNTech trial to help get this vaccine out knowing my background for diversity purposes was needed. I still wear masks in public to this day.I'm aware of this. The problem is that if we try to add nuance to the rules, people get stupid and don't follow any. I watched a White Sox home game last night, and the camera showed the crowd as usual. The rule is that you must wear a mask covering both nose and mouth unless you are seated and actively eating or drinking. Almost no one did this. I would estimate about two thirds of the people I saw had masks, but you could count on one hand the number who had them covering mouth and nose. Most had them under their chin or hanging from one ear. There was some social distancing between parties with the seating. I understand that in theory masks are still necessary, but in practice I wonder if they are actually doing any good in an outdoor ballpark setting - I know they don't work the way they were being "worn."So honest question. Are people actually outdoor masking? In NC that hasn’t been going on since last summer. Honest question
I'd love to have nuance...but every time we try that, people get stupid. I'm in MA. We started out with masks outside if distancing isn't possible...people got stupid...now it's masks in public at all times.I'm not anti mask. I have taken this seriously from the day we closed. Enough is enough though. Outside walking around is not a risk. Nuances are not that hard. At a park or zoo if you are in line or indoors wear a mask. Not rocket science.
Spread in sports in schools has been quite minimal here. Even our track who stupid parent sent a kid to school sick, was at practice the night before the test came back positive - they do not make kids wear masks while running and such - caused no spread. Zero. Contact sports are more of an issue but that's easy to see why. Last time I checked when I was outside walking, it's not a contact sport. I actually walked quite a few miles yesterday outside on the sidewalk with no mask and didn't touch anyone.
There's caring for people and their safety and then there is overkill
I'm not living in fear. I've had selfish, stupid people up to my freaking eyeballs. You were in such a rush to hop on your self righteous soap box that you read only parts of my response. My not wanting to share my medical info does not mean I didn't get the vaccine. I feel sad for you that you are living your life in fear when the science really doesn't support it. If it did states like Florida and Texas would have lost half their population by now and yet their numbers say otherwise.
I've seen it work at the largest zoo in the nation. People on the street here just step aside. It's not that hard really. Honestly if you are that worried about it, wear a mask, but science even says it's not necessary. There comes a point where you either have faith that it will be fine or not. I've been practical from the start. It is hard to let go of fears, I get it, but we cannot keep doing things because of it even when science says it's okay.I'd love to have nuance...but every time we try that, people get stupid. I know it's not that hard. Tell that to the people who can't seem to understand that a mask belongs OVER your nose. Or that it needs to hug your face instead of constantly sliding off.I've seen it work at the largest zoo in the nation. People on the street here just step aside. It's not that hard really. Some do ask to make sure we can safely remove masks. At least my friends and parents at school do. Just a different POVI agree and if one more random person ask me if I got vaccinated I may trip them. Seriously how is my health choices any of their business and I feel this way as someone who supports the vaccine well kind of!!!!
And I'm tired of judgments across the board. I don't actually think we're entirely on the same team. I want masks when helpful. Not when useless. I will remove for fully vaccinated indoors. I will remove for security reasons. I do not wear outside at all unless the stores I am walking to are right next to each other. I won't call people selfish jerks for not wearing masks right outside. Even inside I'm vaccinated and masking. I don't have the energy to care anymore.I know it's not that hard. Tell that to the people who can't seem to understand that a mask belongs OVER your nose. Seriously - we're on the same team here, I'm just at my wits end with morons and jerks.
WOW. Read my post history please and stop assuming that I'm talking about masking outside - I'm talking about masking in general. I don't like the mandate here in MA, and I'm resentful towards the idiots that made it necessary. And I'm tired of judgments across the board. I don't actually think we're entirely on the same team.
