My idea for the layout is that from the Parking lot and hotel, you take a people mover car into the mall building. The building has a large open area surrounding it so it can expand further. The Peoplemover goes to the middle of the mall by the castle. There, you can embark on to the wings and explore the park.

That's a good idea. Although, the people mover can't be visible by Main Street because it would ruin the atmosphere. Other than that, sounds great!:)

Also, how about a Rain Forest Cafe in Adventureland?

I found out a way to incoperate a Jungle cruise type attraction: Turn it into a flume ride! Jungle river will have a radio commentary as I can't fit a skipper into my modification for Jungle cruise. You were right about animal wing being a bad idea, I couldn't figure out how to fit in some of animal kingdom's attractions when designing a rough map in art class today. As for attractions with enormous ride bildings, I put them in the corners of the main floor. Minor attractions like Fantasyland dark rides can be put on upper levels.

for the speedway we can have a bunch of simulators like they have at the ESPN zone. Enless you want to have a go kart track but that would probably stink up the place with gas fumes.

and we can have a world class arcade with a bowling ally and sports bar

For Space Mountain, we could make simulators, like at Cyberspace Mountain in DisneyQuest. That would save a lot of space.

I'd like to join in, if it's not too late.

First thought...encourage retailers to sponsor attractions: The Banana Republic Jungle Cruise, Carousel of Progress, brought to you by The Sharper Image....that sort of thing. Helps with funding, also creates "buy-in" from retailers to stay in the mall.

Second idea...Many Malls now have adjacent hotels. Why not build an actual, working Hollywood Tower Hotel? It can even have a scaled-down version of a ToT ride, which is actually a working elevator to the main level of the mall.

I supposed this mall will have stores surrounding the park in the middle, much like the Mall of America; am I right?

BRILLIANT idea! I wish I had thought of that! :D

Sorry I havn't posted in a while guys, but let's welcome dao vici to the team!:D :sohappy:  Sure, we can have a hotel. Although I don't really understand what you meant in the second paragraph.

kent, it is sort of like mall of america. Here's my idea for the layout. The ground level where the rides are will have glass roofs above them two stories up. Around the areas will the shops in two stories. The ride buildings could go under the shopping sections, and through the outer berm of the mall.

Come on guys, we need more attraction ideas! What and what not are we gonna use?:)

The Cyber Space Mountain sounds like a good idea SIR. Except, why not have it like that you're plotting your corse through space and then you ride it. That would be neat....

Space Mountian could take on a Treasure Planet type theme, and you could create your very own path to Treasure Planet, and then back to the space port (whatever it's called).

That's a good idea, but the movie didn't do well, so I don't think it will work.

If Space Mountain were in the outer area outside the mall, would it realy make much difference how much space it takes up.

I do know that Disneyland's Space Mountain is 100 feet smaller in circumferance that WDW's (200 feet as opposed to the MK's 300 ft. SM). Also, the lower portions of Disneyland's Space Mountain are underground, so the structure wouldn't stand too high and obscure some of DL's structures such as the castle and the Matterhorn.

For Space Mountain, we could just build it on a smaller scale, and maybe place the lower parts of the ride underground much like DL's SM.

As for Jungle Cruise, that could be placed inside a flume instead of an actual river like the regular ride, with similarly-designed but somewhat smaller boats to save space. Same can be done with the Speedway/Autopia, with smaller cars and track. Also, the cars can be electric instead of running on gasoline, which would solve the problem concerning stinking up the air!

Neat! I supposed this is a 3-level shopping mall, with the park on the first floor and the shops on the 2nd and 3rd floors. Am I right?

Crazy idea- during the spring & summer, Chicago's weather is quite nice, but the winter/fall weather is bitter cold, so here's my idea- RETRACTABLE ROOF OVER THE PARK!!! They have them in large baseball/football stadiums, so why not with our mall? That would be so cool! Also, I looked on a map, and there are at least 150 acres of land along Interstate 55 in the Chicago suburb of Bollingbrook where we could put our mall.

With 150 acres, we should be able to have enough area to build a decent-sized park. Also, the building should be considerably bigger around that the Mall of America; Camp Snoopy only spans 7 acres, not remotely big enough for a Disney park like this one!
The park inside the Disney Mall probably won't be as big as the Magic Kingdom, but is should be larger than that!

BTW, My 100th post!!!!:sohappy: :sohappy: :sohappy:

100 posts is quite a milestone, but you don't earn to WDWMagic ears and become a Junior WDWMagic Cast Member until your 150th post. I was just promoted to WDWMagic Cast Member, which comes with 200 posts.

Just thought you'd like to know! :)

Anchor Stores for the Disney Mall

One thing any mall needs is a series of "anchor stores", or large department stores which "anchor" customers as the also serve as entranceways to the mall. Given which stores are commonplace at Chicago area shopping malls, here is what I suggest for anchors:

Bloomingdale's, JCPenney, Lord & Taylor, Macy's, Marshall-Fields, Nordstrom, Sak's Fifth Avenue, and Sears

Not a bad lineup, given the size of the mall! Come to think of it, we very well could end up with the largest mall in the world! So far the largest is West Edmonton Mall, with 800 stores. Second place and the largest mall in the U.S. is the Mall of America, which has 525 stores under its roof. You might want to take these facts into consideration, since it would be nice to make the Disney Mall the largest mall in the world!

Just my 2 cents worth! :D

Hey there! Welcome to the forums. This section of the forums is for imagineer wannabees where they can share their ideas for new rides and themeparks, ect. These aren't real ideas that Disney will do, but things that we would like to be seen done. There are real imagineer on these boards, but we don't really know who they are.

BTW, if you wanna post ideas of your own, just start on a thread of your own. Again, welcome to the forums! :sohappy:

Some of the ideas we have got here are much more creative then some of the more recent low budget efforts. ARE YOU LISTENING EISNER? GIVE THE IMAGINEERS A BIGGER BUDGET AND THEY COULD MAKE SOMETHING AS GOOD AS DISNEYSEA!!!!

I'm talking about takining the Hollywood Tower Hotel-- the concept that the Tower of Terror is built around-- and bringing it to life, in all it's pre-lightening-strike glory. A posh, 4-star hotel (of course, resonably priced) where every guest is treated like Hollywood Royalty.

And there, in the center of this actual hotel are two elevators. One normal, for the faint of heart. The other... a free-fall "express" elevator that takes you straight to the first floor--no stops-- and into the mall courtyard. (Logistically, entry to this one would probably be possible only form the topmost floor.)

I think I figured something out, We could put smaller rides like the fantasyland dark rides and teacups on upper floors, freeing up space on the main floor. After all, the Fantasy Wing will take up some space with JII put in it.
