You can always build by Baton Rouge (there is a TON of land) and we rarely have 'tornado's'' in South LA. Most of them are up north by Arkansas, Dallas, and Oklahoma.

But hey this is not my park and if they want to make a Texas park then lets see what can be done. I would say that Austin would be the best place given its central location in the state, but Houston's proximity to a large body of water and fantastic infrastructure makes it viable too. I just feel that Houston is above needing a Disney Resort to attract people it is the South's NYC.

Have any of you ever lived in Texas? Y'all really have no idea what the weather can be like. Ignoring the possibility of a string of 90+ days over 100 degrees, you get the joys of straight-line winds crushing houses w/o warning, torrential cloudbursts that make the typical Florida 3pm shower look like a light mist, and hailstorms that do major damage (had to replace our whole roof twice in 12 years). Oh yeah, wait till the dust storm rolls in from the west - no, not as bad as Arizona but enough to make life miserable.

Don't get me wrong. We love Texas (wife and kids native born) but it is just nowhere near the right place for a park.

Honestly San Antonio is a awesome city overall, great place to visit for a family IMO. A bunch to do there already and with a Disney park nearby? Ohhh mama!

random question. If Six Flags have sucessfully operated a park in Texas for the last 53 years along with Sea World. Then how is it against physics and climate for Disney to Build a park. It's completely with the realm of possiblity.
Straight line winds, have you been jn cat 4/5 hurricanes. The Disney World parks are built to withstand, whereas the Tokyo parks are design earthquake safety. As the for heat,build coverage,greenery, water features. All play small park in lowering localized temps (small scale areas).

Every park has its problems it will have to face. And before I leave I give you flooding at the magic kingdom
