To the surprise of no one, this is remarkably underwhelming. It might as well just be an interview between Jennifer Fickley-Baker and Chris Beatty, anyone on here could answer these pointed questions better.

I especially liked this non-response:

Jenn Fickley-Baker:
I’ve been lucky enough to walk the queue a few times and it really is amazing. Blog reader Lois asked “Can you provide any specifics or details about the interactive queue with Scuttle for Under the Sea ~ Journey of the Little Mermaid?

Chris Beatty:
As an Imagineer, it's important for us to start the story as soon as you approach the attraction. The Little Mermaid provided us a great opportunity to pull that story out of the ride and farther out into the grotto.

Quote regarding soft openings

"We’ve confirmed with the park that this past weekend’s opening was a ‘dress rehearsal,’ which means there may be times when it’s necessary to suspend operation of a location, or even the entire area so adjustments can be made. The park will also host several film crews in New Fantasyland over the next week, so that will also limit availability of areas within New Fantasyland. The official Preview Period begins Nov. 19."

Here are my questions that didn't get answered:
  • Chris, can you go into some of the thought process behind changing King Triton’s hair from it’s California Adventure counterpart?
  • Chris, is there any plan to create new Fastpass paper for the Fantasyland attractions instead of the generic Fastpass paper currently being used for Dumbo, Barnstormer and Little Mermaid?
  • Chris, will there be a merchandise cart or shop for the Little Mermaid? What about a snack stand? I miss being able to get a cream cheese pretzel in Fantasyland.
  • Chris, can you tell us anything more on the Seven Dwarf's Mine Train, perhaps tease us with a new piece of concept art?
  • Can you let us know the thought process behind the painting of Phil Holmes?
  • Chris, what can you tell us about theming an area versus decorating an area?
  • What went into the decision to move the windows on Prince Eric’s castle? How often do last minute adjustments like this take place?
  • Is Chris seriously not allowed to say that they're building a bathroom?
  • Where can I get a Disney construction helmet with my name on it like the Imagineers and construction workers?

Then in the comments section:
Can we rename this to "Jennifer chats with Chris Beatty" as opposed to a live chat with fans? Let's call it what it actually is.

As usual, nothing much. A couple glimpses of the new rooms in the restaurant, confirmation that not much is different between Mermaid in DL and WDW, and, um, and . . . um, that's it!
