God forbid there be magic in the Magic Kingdom. Rivers being the price is the only real problem of Villainsland. The way people are pearl clutching about the idea of villains having their own space in the parks after years of "The villains try to take over the park" shows and games, I feel like you want to rip down the Haunted Mansion too because a toddler might cry there.

I'm doing my part, but I'm only one person, and we're only one family:

One WDW trip for my wife for a RunDisney event (no park days planned), one 3-night DL trip for my wife for a RunDisney event, and zero WDW or DL trips planned after that.

Me? Zero US park trips currently booked or planned from now through 2030. I have one and hopefully two international park trips in the (very) early stages of being planned a few years out.

But 1/3 of park guests haven't seen Pandora!!! Think of little Johnny and Suzie and how devastated they will be if mom and dad don't drop $6-8k on a WDW trip to finally see Pandora!!!

That’s why I swim with the fishes now. Dolphins to be exact. My kids are getting more out of SeaWorld than they are Disney.

Going to do the Penguin stuff this summer.

the word bubble - being In the bubble

“Come visit, but you can only visit the park you chose first and then leave to go somewhere else only after a set time but don’t try your second pick first. Also, don’t just drive to a resort expecting to visit to check it out. Don’t get us started on our ride system passes! We don’t even know how it works. It just makes money”

We drive so the bubble has always been different for us - now it just seems like a smaller bubble. Getting smaller all the time .

Everyone's version of "the bubble" is different but I think everyone generally understands the sentiment. I used to fly my family down and the loss of MDE would definitely be a detraction from the bubble. It was basically the start to your vacation that started in your home state when you arrived at the airport. I definitely get that.

I drive now so that bubble is different for me. The whole family piles in the car at 6pm and I drive through the night and arrive on property around lunch time the next day (give or take a few hours). That nightly adventure is our "portal" to WDW. We've made it our own.

As far as staying on property, one you've checked in, I think the bubble is still largely intact. In fact I can argue that Disney has made it easier for people post COVID (albeit more expensive) with 7 day LL bookings and now no more VQ so there isn't any reason to wake up early if you don't want to.

The only other resort perk I miss is resort delivery other than extended park hours.

My "bubble" popped. Soap everywhere. Was really messy.

Then, "Leadership" decided they wanted to charge me $ for napkins to clean up the mess. That's been the Disney story for the past two decades.

Their idea of a "bubble" and the general public's idea of a "bubble" is completely different. When the DW and I started going to WDW, it was "magical". Each resort had its own branding, Soaps, stationary, robes, etc. You would have bell services bring your bags to your room and maybe be upgraded to bring in more magic. Now it feels like a "Black Hole Money Pit"! To pay for way to get on rides, to "Special Ticketed Nighttime Events" ( read separate Day ticket, Night ticket), besides the original Daily ticket price. When does it stop?

Disney's had paid extra hours before the current trend. That isn't new.

I think you're bubble bursting is more that it's not new anymore and you are being nostalgic for a different time. Which is ok. I see a trip to WDW different than when I went 10 years ago. That magic is still there for me, but it's different.

It doesn't stop. Disney is no longer a "family friendly theme park". It is now a "Corporate Entertainment Center". There's no going back.

Doesn't mean you can't have fun on visits. You just need to alter your expectations and understand that loyalty has no place in today's Disney. My trips to Orlando used to be 90% Disney. Now it's about 30%.

You may be right, some magic is still there, if you look for it. Disney magic should have been revolving forward instead of regressing backward. If your company is built on "Magic" and creativity is in your DNA, it should shine brighter. For being nostalgic, sure I am, shouldn't everybody? Been going since the 80's, today's guests will never experience what it was like then. But IMHO, it should be better now then it was then. Didn't Walt say " Keep moving forward, opening new doors, and doing new things, because we're curious and curiosity keeps leading us down new paths"?
