Yes, I remember the 50th. It was a fabulous time and we received the best firework show ever.

I'm glad each park got something new, too.
WDW deserves a little credit, right? Even though I was only 10, I remember the 50th. Now that Dumbo flies over the park, I'm happy. You know they brought DL fireworks to MK for the summer 2 years ago? I thought it was better in WDW just because they could spread out the fireworks. Then we went back to Wishes, which I prefer over DL fireworks (except for Dumbo, my favorite character).

I think they do that simply because it's easier to film at Disneyland. Nobody's vacation will be ruined (LOL) and DL is on California, where the majority of the Disney company is stationed.
They used to shoot the commercials in WDW. I've certainly seen enough cameras there in the past. They shoot our planning DVDs there too. Why not just say where it is? They're probably too cheep to fly actors out to WDW.

50th year was awesome! I made it to DL 3 times during the 50th and WDW once. It was an expensive year - lol. My poor husband put up with it though. He knows the love of DL runs deep. It's funny because at the he start of the 50th I didn't think I would make it to DL at all.

Wasn't it?! Everyone was so darn happy. It was the best! I went a couple of times as well and I'm sure my pockets went empty, HAHA.

I know what it's like to have family members who aren't into Disney. It sucks.

Credit for what, exactly?

I'm not talking about Magical!, I'm talking about Remember... Dreams Come True, which is far superior to both Magical! and Wishes, IMO.

My husband loves Disney just not all my extended family who haaaassss to join us for the our time at DL. There were 20 people there with us one day. I'm already coming up with a plan to keep them away from our trip to DL in 2014.

Rephrasing...credit for helping Disney become what it is today.

The fireworks show you referred to earlier, Magic, Music and Mayhem! was shown throughout the summer of 2010 at the MK - it's not a Disneyland show. It was created for MK's Pirate & Princess Parties, which are no longer held. They just dusted off that show and played it for the summer.

WDW has done a lot to contribute to the Disney legacy in its 40 years. It's just not doing so presently. ;)

Blame Cars Land. And all those Easterners who go home and say "Hey, there's a Disney experience beyond Orlando, and we had a marvelous time!"
Are you insulting easterners? o_OBecause ya know, I'm from Baltimore...;) As Raven24 has said (yesterday, which was the first time I'd heard this, but she seems to know what she's talking about), some don't like DL. Don't know why... Many Easterners, like me, enjoy both but consider WDW to be superior. Even though DL is nice, I could not spend 2 weeks there like I do every summer at WDW

I have not seen Remember as it Magical was playing when I was there, and if I've read correctly, it will still be there this summer when I go. No way of getting around it. Wishes makes me cry, so I avoid watching it. Once a trip. Illuminations in Epcot is what needs replacing. DL shows have it all over Illuminations.

They are too cheap, LOL.
Ironically, my brother has this book of photos of attractions in DL, and one photo of Buzz Lightyear Astro Blasters is actually of Buzz Lightyear Space Ranger Spin. I can tell because the cannons are attached. I wonder how that got thrown in there. I mean, some rides you can get away with showing either version, but when they're different? No.

Are you DVC? Because you can use your points to stay at one of the hotels. They have villas over at GC, but you can get just a straight hotel room. They didn't make it big enough unfortunately, so the studios will fill up. But you can get the hotel rooms, which I think are probably nicer anyway.
Not a DVC. Someday I hope to be!

It's too bad you'll be missing it again. It is a very neat firework show and I'm sure its time is running out, since the 60th anniversary is coming up.

Who knows. Wishes has been around for 10 years, and Illuminations has been around for 14 years. And since you've got seasonally rotating shows, it might stay. Illuminations desperately needs a revamp. I'm sick of watching the ball in the middle of the water. Both of my parents like it but I'm rather sick of it. It's been around since I was 4. I'm almost 18...yeah.

But then again, who knows if they'll even do anything for the 60th. I mean, we got nothing for the 40th in 2011. It would be nice, but, meh.

Disneyland changes its shows more frequently than WDW. We also tend to get one thing during the big birthdays, which also doesn't seem to happen in Florida. For our 40th, we got Indy.

I have no doubt we'll get a new firework show for the next big birthday.

Not to mention WOC's ability to add and change out show sequences. The first year was great, then the next visit PoTC was added, then my last trip the Brave sequence which I thought was so very well done. To further Ravens thoughts just look at Fantasmic. It's like a totally different show lol. I live in Orlando and try to venture to the DLR at least once a year.

Raven said it best, there is only one happiest place on earth. And I agree it's NOT in my back yard.
