Disney just announced they're going to build Western River Expedition, but.....

...they would have to close and tear down Splash Mountain in order to build it.

How likely are you to react to this?

why would they tear down splash (a ride that's popular enough to be a fast pass ride) to do another ride? why not a new ride somewhere else? doesn't make sense.

I certainly like the idea behind the Western River Expedition.

But it won't have the fantastic music, the whimsical story, nor the heart that makes Splash a classic treasure.

So forget it. I'll keep my Splash Mountain!

I am on board with keeping splash mountain. No need to get ride of a great ride with an unkown ride that could just disappoint.

Splash Mountain is my absolute favorite attraction. If they were to tear it down I will officially never be going to Walt Disney World again.

Why tear down Splash just to essentially rebuild it when they build WRE, which as one of it's three attractions had a ride almost exactly like Splash.

Keep Splash, Keep BTMR, and if they want, build a dark ride like the WRE was supposed to have and the three of them would essentially bring the original dream of the Western River concept to life.

Basically what I am saying is if they tear down Splash Mountain, they are dumb and stupid. Dumb Stupid Stupidheads.

with skepticism. WRE is not going to happen in its form from the 60's, it looks cool but so many elements are already throughout all of the MKs in the world.

While I do not think an actual built Western River Expedition could ever live up to the legend, Splash mountain does totally ruin the story of westward expansion told in Frontierland and Liberty Square. The architecture of these lands becomes more recent, while retaining the appropriate architecture. As one moves westward in Frontierland one moves through US history as we headed west. Splash Mountain through a kink in this story telling by plopping Georgia right there in the middle of the wild west.

Wouldn't building it be kind of obsolete? When designing the other rides in the park (BTMR and SM) they used concepts of the original WRE. So really would tearing down an e-ticket ride, to be replaced by something more of a B or C ticket, be beneficial to overall park market exposure?Im all for reimagining Frontierland, but not at the expense of Splash.

There's no way that they would get rid of Splash Mountain. It would upset so many guests and is such a favorite to so many. I think it would be a really upsetting move if they did this.

Guys, this this is a theoretical question. Remain calm because Splash Mountain isn't going anywhere. :)

But to add the the topic, I would keep Splash. One of my top 5 rides.
