first off, you turn off the caps.

now, back to the topic at hand.

WDW is only hiring at the moment on a need basis. They're only hiring for what they need. If that doesn't discourage you, then you go to the casting building, and leave a job application there.

It's that easy

FIRST OFF... GO LOWER CASE!!

ok... now, it's located across the street from Downtown Disney, next door to the Suntrust building.

All you have to do is fill out a job application, and have you Drivers License and Social Security card with you (or your passport), for proof of eligibility

If you don't live in Orlando, you can pretty much forget it. The only information you really need is what Rob just told you. Go to casting and apply. As far as websites go, these forums should provide you with all the information you'll need.
And about your question "have you work there?"....just read MKT's post again...

This is kinda a thread drift....but I mean so many cast members this past trip that had moved to Orlando to work for Disney like 5 years ago. They wanted good benefits and warmer weather and they just picked up their families and moved down. What a dream!!!!!

A word of caution on that. One needs to seriously do a budget before pursuing such a dream.

Here's what goes into the equation...

WDW's pay and benefits are quite competitive with similar jobs (say, in a mall or at a restaurant)... but those are entry-level service jobs.

Starting pay for most roles is what.. 6.50 per hour? (just a guess)
A 40-hour week is not guaranteed... very likely could be 32 hours or even less seasonally. 32 x 6.5 = about $200 per week or $900 per month before taxes/soc. security. Soooo... you have about $700 after taxes?

Apartments close to WDW run $500++ per month.
You need a car, probably, and insurance.
Food belongs somewhere in the budget as well; also the apartment is much more comfortable in summer when it is air conditioned, requiring electricity.
Then you want a phone so telemarketers can call you.

Wow! I'm in a negative mood here, sorry!

Seriously, though... if its a family move, then two family members will need to work, or there has to be some sharing of living expenses. Maybe a rented room.

Yes, its wonderful to be part of the magic, but it's your job and your career too. A decision to be made with... caution.

Wow you guys are really nice, all this person wants is info and you show them a real "Disney" attitude. Are you cast members? Because you sure don't act like a cast member.

If your looking to apply for a job with Disney go to http://disney.go.com/disneycareers/index.html
you'll be able to see all the current job posting and get all the info that these other people seem to not know how to help you with. (as a past cast member- be careful- the pay is hard to get along on,(most entery level jobs are $6.35-$6.50an hr... FT) and it can be hard in the beguining with no seniority) If you have any other questions feel free to email me.
Good Luck!!

IT'S REALLY HARD TO READ ALL CAPS. Rob asked to have no caps, he replied the same way.

This guy didn't offer any information. For people in Orlando, the best way is to go to casting.

When people started replying, there wasn't much of a chance the guy was going to get a job.

I'm sorry, but people need to take some responsibility and not have everything spoon fed to them.

don't judge. I answered his question the best I could. All I asked him in return was for him to kill the caps (ie- Screaming). If he had more information, I could've given him a better answer.

As for the link you gave, the WDW careers website is too out of date to be considered too good of a resource anymore.

btw- I am a CM... and one of the best ones that you'll never have to deal with

Don't worry sar1980sweetie. I got the same reaction when I read the post. I had just asked the same question in WDW general discussion area before I found this section and read this post, and I am about to go and delete it before I get chewed up also.

*Erika*

PS But if anyone else have any further info besides the very informative ones mktiggerman gave us, I would really appreciate it! :)

Well, it says you're from Florida, your best bet will be going to the Casting Building.

However, it will pretty much be useless unless you live in Orlando. They are hiring part-time and seasonal for summer IF THAT.

It won't be worth moving to Orlando just for a summer job.

If you're in college, I'd recommend doing the College Program. That will at least allow you to work at WDW.

Gee, I didn't think it was to much to ask one to stop screaming. Every site I have ever been on whether Disney or other reguards all caps as screaming.

The question was answered.

The answer is correct:cool:

I was on the offical Disney site this morning and posted jobs were all "professional" and mostly in Cali.

There is a list of hourly jobs but they refer one to the job line.

In other words those telling one to apply at the Casting Office at WDW were giving true useful information:)

Good luck to those looking for work and don't get angry at the messenger just because the message is not what you want to hear. :( If the truth hurts, don't ask.

By the by, my work is finding jobs for people and often I have to be very frank with people. They may not want to hear that they won't get a job next week making $15 an hour when they have no H.S. or GED, no skills employers need, no transportation to get to work and often a spotty work history.:( None of those barriors to employment were created by me:D

Just so everyone can be friends again (tee hee) I have no issue with the "online SHOUTING" issue here. The problem I was expressing is my distaste in was the way things were stated.

"If you don't live in Orlando, you can pretty much forget it."

That isn't the total truth, and for people who work for Dream Makers, I was surprised they would be so quick to shoot down this persons dream like that. When it comes to jobs, never say never! You never know what you'll miss if you do! Plus from that site you can at least get more info then "it's casting or NOTHING"!

I will talk to my connections at WDW for you eugenio and GrumpysGal and see if there may be a way for you to at least send an application in. (I know you do have to go there for the interview though):D
