Disney Interactive Recruits Aspiring Spies
BURBANK, Calif. (Business Wire) -- Disney Interactive announced the launch of Spy Kids : Challenger for Game Boy Advance and Spy Kids : Mega Mission Zone for Windows 95/98/ME and Macintosh. Published by Disney Interactive, both games were developed in conjunction with Dimension Interactive and Troublemaker Studios and inspired by Dimension Films' Spy Kids feature films. Directed by Robert Rodriguez and starring Antonio Banderas, Carla Gugino, Alex Vega and Daryl Sabara, Spy Kids 2: The Island of Lost Dreams hit theaters Aug. 7. Spy Kids : Challenger and Spy Kids : Mega Mission Zone take aspiring Spy Kids through challenges similar to the adventures that characters Carmen and Juni Cortez encounter in the feature film. Both titles engage players to become brave recruits and clever secret agents in order to advance through the ranks of the Secret Service known as OSS.
· In Spy Kids : Challenger kids play three unique acts -- Juggler, Dragonflight and Magna Racer -- based on actual missions from Spy Kids 2 : The Island of Lost Dreams. Carmen and Juni guide players and moti-vate them to complete each activity. Players control when they want to proceed to the next act. As players accumulate points, they receive rank promotions, from the junior level "Shadow," up to full OSS "Master Elite Spy" status. The game saves ranks and high scores automatically so players can compare their achievements and compete to be the best OSS agent.
· In Spy Kids : Mega Mission Zone, Carmen and Juni are on a secret mission to find a new Spy Kids re-cruit to help them protect the world. Spy Kids : Mega Mission Zone allows players to travel through action-packed locations from both the original Spy Kids and Spy Kids 2 : The Island of Lost Dreams films, collect-ing gadgets and completing missions that make spying fun. The game includes five games, each featuring 10 levels of difficulty, and five challenging puzzles. Players track down devices in the Super Guppy, Dragon SPY Ship and even a Magna Racer in order to infiltrate enemy strongholds. Once inside, players clash with Thumb Thumbs and Magna Men as they solve puzzles in order to increase their spy skills and earn higher OSS clearances.
