Disney Insider Trivia Question about PI?!

Why on Earth would the Disney Insider feature a trivia question that implies PI still exists?

"What is celebrated every night on Pleasure Island?" (the answer if you click on it is of course New Year's Eve)

To someone who isn't a die hard fan, the tense of this question implies to me that this is something you can still experience. What am I missing?

Well PI does still exist, just not the way we want it to. So maybe that was what they were talking about. But yes the New Years thing was gone long before they closed the clubs.

I'm sure it's just an old question that they are too lazy to replace. In that respect, it's a lot better than the shots of "majestic Port Valdez" that were left in the old Universe of Energy film, post-spill.

There was another question that I tohught was wrong

I noticed on Disney movie covers that some of them say Walt Disney on top while others say just Disney. Is there any particular reason for this?

A- Generally the rule has been to use "Walt Disney's" above the title of any motion pictures produced during his lifetime. Pictures done after his death use "Disney."

THe Lion King, Little Mermaid for example both Had Walt Disney on the top of the posters

Not quite, but the intent of the original trivia answer was correct.

All of the films made while Walt was alive do indeed say "Walt Disney's Cinderella" (for example).
Those from after his death say "Walt Disney Pictures Presents The Lion King".

Walt Disney's name is still prominent, but the sub-text explains that it's a presentation of Walt Disney Pictures, which is the studio.
There is no posessive "'s" at the end of Disney, whereas the old films were directly Walt's.

So while the overall intent was correct, the way the answer was worded was incorrect.

I normally only vaguely skim the Insider, but I saw this as well. Craziness! I was trying to figure out if they were planning on bringing new years eve back for the restaurants to celebrate or something. Way to rub it in, Disney. :fork::fork::fork:

Think for yourselfer
I actually laughed out loud when I got my disney insider letter today. What a joke. It did make me long for the days of the NYE celebrations every night though.

Ya this is is weird, and to go along with it, something similar...

If anyone has used the Disney ipod app...in the trivia game they refer to Hollywood Studios as MGM Studios. I know there have been updates to the app so I've been surprised to see that.

I thought it was an odd question, but then I wondered if they were referring to Pleasure Island in Pinocchio. Anyone remember if New Year's was celebrated there every night?
