'Disney Insider'- Everest date?

Fromt the original press released announcing the ride Disney has mentioned that the official openning would be Earth Day 2006, although they would try to push for a late 2005 opening if possible.

If you read down the page a bit you will see:

The ride is officially scheduled to open in 2006, however, from the podium Rohde suggested his team is striving to bring the project to fruition by fall 2005.

They are trying to get the attraction up and running as soon as possible. If they finish and have everything working by Jan, then they will open the attraction in Jan. Although the official press celebration and all they other junk won't be until April.

Has any CM training even gone on yet with that ride? That's usually the first sign that we're getting close to a soft opening or preview period.

I just got a Disney Insider e-mail (the e-mail officially sent by disney for news, trivia, etc.... ala Disney Magazine.)

It had a section about Everest and the Discovery Channel TV show.

"It's the premise of Disney's Animal Kingdom park's newest attraction, Expedition: Everest, set to debut in April; but for a small group of Imagineers, conservation experts, and research biologists, it's also a thrilling reality."

What's the scoop on the Discovery Channel TV Special? Is there going to be a special on E:E?

No. There is yet to ever be a rider. No type of even limited testing will start until December.
