Disney in the News...

What's wrong with promoting a cleaner planet? I think it's a great message to get out, regardless of whether you believe in global warming or not.

I think I see where this discussion is going...:lookaroun
Because I remember the same thing happening in the early to mid-90's when I was in high school.

Everyone got worked up about the environment for a few years and then it went back to normal.

If this was a real change, supported globally by multiple governments, I would be less skeptical. Right now, all I see are a ton of corporations cashing in on the public's willingness to buy anything that is "environmentally friendly".

''And here we see a strange creature, it's a MickeyMouse, these can be dangerous if approached quickly giving the eliment of surprise.''

I can just imagine it now

Great idea though! I like the ''green'' thing, especially Disney doing it, get them while they're young :)

The problem with the 1990s environmentalism is that it was also associated with the crackpot New Age movement. Few people took it seriously. Now much of the earth stewardship information is rooted in science* and seems less far-fetched.

*With the exception of global warming, which is a real consideration but has been exaggerated on both sides of the fence.

This seems like the True-Life Adventure series.

I don't believe in this going green for global warming sake, cause I don't belive that it's true, but I do think it is good that people are focusing on trying to find new energy sources and caring about nature.

Feel all the wonderful motion flowing through things far and near. Nature will share her secrets when we are ready to hear!
EVERYBODY!!!
Energy you are profound! You Make the world go round and round! You make the world go Round!

(I know it skips but it works...:D)

Bleh...I was hoping this "green" fad would be done by then...

I certainly hope for all of our sakes that we aren't in the midst of a "fad" at all, but a paradigm shift away from the old ideas about our relationship with this planet.

I am looking forward to these new films, for one!

I always enjoy a return to the original Disney classics so I think this is pretty cool. I don't think it's so much about going "green" as it seems more just a return to the educational aspect.

You make a good point. I just hate the guilty feeling I get when grilling my gazelle meat over my burning tires...

It will be interesting to see what route they go with this: Meerkat Manor or old-school documentary.
