Its going to be hot, and its going to be crowded. Because of that, I'd look at setting your expectations to a level that accepts that being in the park with wall to wall people and don't try to do too much.

Having been during July in 2016 and 2017, the parks won’t be wall-to-wall people unless you travel over the 4th. We are frequent WDW visitors and in our experience July has been no busier than other summer months. Yes it will be hot. June to October in central Florida is very hot and humid....daily thunderstorms are common. Simply keep an eye on the forecast each day so you are prepared.

Drink plenty of water and consider an afternoon break at your hotel to enjoy the pool. Park touring is more comfortable in the evening hours.

Utilize fastpass so you will have shorter waits at some attractions. If you stay until park closing, know that Disney transportation will have long lines so be prepared to be patient.
However more buses will be dispensed to handle the volume.

Go with the expectation of having fun and you will!

As was stated it's going to be hot, humid, and crowded. My advice if you are staying on property do morning extra hours or rope drop and get fast passes for the morning. Go back to the resort enjoy the pool in the afternoon and then go back to the parks for extra hours in the evening when it cools down a bit. Drink plenty of water, wear a hat and sunscreen

July? Don't do it. 😲

Seriously, I went last year in August, only because there was no choice in timing. Given the same circumstances I wouldn't do it again. It was brutally hot and humid, and quite crowded. It takes a lot of the fun out of it if you're running from one A/C to another and dripping in between.

If you don't have a choice, get to the parks as early as possible, plan for a mid-day retreat to the resort and come back later. Drink a lot of water, try to avoid the sun and slow down.

I agree, but yet, I had a friend who went in July and he absolutely loved the time there. He has nothing bad to say about it vacation, and when I asked if it was crowded, he told me it was wall to wall people. I think if you set your expectations and realize what you're going into, you'll enjoy yourself.

btw, many people have little choice but to wait for the summer, for instance my friend, he's a teacher, and a basketball coach, so taking a week off during the school year wasn't in the cards for him. He also has a daughter so the same goes with pulling her out of school. I'm sure he could have found a different window of time to go, i.e., april vacation, but he chose July and had a wonderful time.

Naturally, you can't always choose your window. July might still be okay, but August? No thanks. Granted, a day at Disney is better than a day at... We still had fun of course. But walking around, waiting in lines, etc. was tough - especially for our 2 y/o DD. You're constantly... Moist. And waiting for stuff. Like I said, I wouldn't do August again. Thankfully, we're going at the beginning of May this year.

Nothing at all wrong with going in July, IMO. The humidity is worse than the heat, believe it or not. But really, it's all relative to how each person handles that sort of weather. I will say, that if you're from the UK for example and have never vacationed in a place like Central Florida, be prepared for a bit of a shock.

The humidity is horrible, but we have no choice but to visit in June and July. We've gone in July twice. We only noticed more crowds when we went over July 4th. To be honest, it was terrible and I vowed never again. But, last trip we went in July and it wasn't bad at all! The tour groups weren't even bothersome. So crowd-wise, as long as you don't go over the 4th, it should be no different than any other summer time. My advice, like others have said, is to take an afternoon break and go back to the hotel to rest and swim. Bring extra clothes like T-shirts, shorts, and undies. I found that I was showering twice a day!

Knowing your biggest adversary will be the heat and humidity, go into your trip well prepared. Plan well for the lines and waits, build in rest and relaxation times to recover and recharge. Lots and lots of drinking water. I was changing t-shirts constantly because of the increased sweating. Blisters, sun burns, eye strain, and heat rashes can also pop up quicker in summer visits.

we did the last week of august for my daughters birthday once. it was hotter than you know what. We did morning parks, mid day pool, and then night parks. Also pack the ponchos, and if it does rain, enjoy shorter lines ;)

What everyone is saying. We often went July/August because of school schedule. Be there at park opening (and I mean be there, don't leave to go there then, you should already be there. Take a good break midday and head back around 5, stay till park close. Be advised, after 2 or 3 days of this pace, you have to just take a morning off completely. It's best in the summer to burn the candle at both ends, but you can only do that so many days in a row.

And remember, you WILL have fun. You ARE at Walt Disney World. This is far better than work. Even if you don't get everything done that you might in spring/fall.

have fun. You ARE
I quoted only a portion to point out tha because you are at DisneyWorld have fun. Sometimes people (and I look at myself in the mirror) get too wrapped up in trying to squeeze every bit out of a visit. Sometimes you just need to go with the flow and enjoy yourself, regardless if there is a sea of people.
