I can only hope that this is a rumour. HP and Disney (in my opinion) just don't mix. It's true that they both have the magic thing in common, but HP takes away from the magic of Disney. I don't know about you guys, but I wouldn't want to see Sorcorer Mickey put up against Potter. All of the little kids of course would choose HP because the wouldn't have grown up watching Sorcorer Mickey. Oh well... to each their own I guess!

actually, come to think of it, Harry Potter belongs with disney. I personally hate HP but I'm totally open to have the guy integrated into the theme parks. MK would benefit greatly from a HP themed attraction or event and it would not be out of place at all.

Putting it in MGM would destroy the themeing of HP, branding it as yet another attraction based on a movie. MK would give it a rightful atmosphere of fantasy.

They don't have to be comapared or pitted against each other, Mickey and Harry can just co-exist, like Mickey does with Yoda.

wait a sec.... Rowling started the 7th book on Jan. 1st?!?!?!?!?!?!?

I've always DESPISED reading, just can't sit down and read a book, and this past summer, I decided to read the 4th book. I saw the first three movies, figured since I hate to read that I wouldn't be able to read the first three books, being I saw the movies and know what happens... and one of my best friends who loves to read said that reading harry potter books are addicting... So, I picked up the 4th book, 770 some pages... and I read it in 10 days!!! Then I tried to read something else... a 215 page book about the red sox... I LOVE THE RED SOX... and it took me about a month... during the semester I decided not to wait until this christmas break, and I went out and bought the 880 some page 5th book... read that in 16 days (during a college semester) and then went out and bought the 6th book... didnt start it (finals) until dec. 21st... and I finished this 660 some page book on christmas eve!!! I AM OBSESSED with these books now!!!!

so on that note... did she really start the 7th book??? How long does it usually take her to write a book, will it be out by like... this summer???

probably not, your best bet would probably be around the same time the 5th movie is released, so maybe around '07..in the mean time, pick yourself up a copy of Artemis Fowl it's a great substitute.

Yes, she said she was going to start on January 1st. We really have no idea how long it takes her to write a book because each one has come at different times. She should finish by the end of the year which would put it out around Summer 07. Book 6 was completed in December 2004 and it didn't come out until July 2005. The editing/publishing process takes a while. The moment I open book 7 will surely be bittersweet...

Str8fan... sorry pal, you will not be getting Leinart, he's gonna be a scumbag like Eli and "refuse" to play for the Saints...

Plus, up until last night, Young has been saying he was gonna stay, now... after last night's performance... I think you want Young to leave and YOU WANT YOUNG! He proved last night he can play at the next level... the performance was almost worthy of going 1... but the Texans will not pass on Bush... it'd be like passing on Lebron, you just can't do that.

Either way, GREAT GAME last night!

A media fabrication. Everything Matt says is contrary to the above statement. ESPN and the like is just looking for ratings.

After last night, I'd still take Leinart. He has experience and his style will work better with the Saints. Did Young have an impressive game last night? Yes, but he isn't what the Saints need. Young won't get away with all that running in the NFL.

Now on to Harry:

2. Do not lose any more notebooks.
After a somewhat panicky few weeks I have finally located a missing notebook. As always when I mislay these things, I had been 'remembering', in its absence, that it contained notes so essential and ideas so imaginative that I would never be able to duplicate them, and the whole of the next book would be impoverished if they were never found. Now that I have said notebook beside me on this desk, however, I see that it contains few useful nuggets amid a lot of complete dross. Nevertheless, the stress I endured while believing it to be the notebook equivalent of the Holy Grail was enough to remind me that I must take better care of my working materials.

I'd like to find that notebook even if she doesn't find it useful.

I was chatting with a friend the other day, who is a real Harry Potter fanatic, I mean he goes to several Potter sites everyday! And we thought that a real Harry Potter theme park at Disney would be great. NOT, I REPEAT NOT, a Disneyquest rip off!

Imagine if you will...

The entrance to the park is a train station with the Hogwarts' Express. The hotel that looks into the park is Hogsmead. With the rooms being over the shops. It's own little town. "Main Street" is Diagon Alley. And the castle is Hogwarts. There could be several types of ride based on quiditch: quiditch coaster like X, a 3D quiditch experience, and I'm sure someone could think up a new ride type.

The screaming shack could be a hunted mansion...

What kind of rides can you come up with that would fit the Harry Potter theme?

I made an octopus ride out of the whomping willow as part of my HP mini-land for my WDW expansion...

Hey Stitchcastle,

Great idea, in fact, I just saw an episode of Beyond Tomorrow on the Science channel that showed the next big thing in thrill rides and it was the world's largest robotic arm with a seat on the end of it. Well this arm can move all over the place and has some astronomical number of possible moves in all three dimensions. That would be perfect for your Whomping Willow!
