Disney in 2006

from those rumours i pick:

MK - refurb of the classics, POTC NEEDS the update, it's the most embarassing PoTC of all the Magic Kingdoms, neo Space Mountain (this should be interesting with it's two tracks)

EPCOT - The new ride films and the possible return of Project Gemini, i'm all for it. Plus the re-imagineering of both The Living Seas and Wonders of Life

MGM - The New Star Tours

AK -BK

I think it looks like they're paving the way for a big event next year, with a total revitalization fo teh resort, sounds like those 5th gate rumours aren't just rumours at all.

So it is possible to have some sort of boat ride in Canada. Definetely not the Brother Bear rapids ride(like at DCA) though.

California Adventure doesn't have a Brother Bear rapids ride...though that's certainly a better idea than what it does have. Grizzly River Rapids is a very dull rapids ride with nothing to look at along the way...except maybe the geysers at the end. Now, if they were to add an audio-animatronic Kenai and Koda here and there, and perhaps an appearance by Rutt and Took just before you go over the last drop (Rutt: "Watch out for that area up ahead, eh?" Took: "Yeah, I'd like turn around if I were you...oh wait, you just did...and there you go again...whoa, stop the spinnin', okay, you're making me, like dizzy."). That's an attraction I'd go on again. The Brother Bear theming only applies to the Redwood Creek area across from it.

If Canada wanted to fork over money for a new ride there is no better time. The exchange rate for Canadien to US is good right now. If you are a Canuck

Speaking of Refurbs, we are thinking of holding one of our forums at Disney in 2008 and my Disney contact told me that beginning in 2006 they are completely remodeling the rooms inside the Contemporary to give it an updated business feel. They will also be remodeling the convention areas at the Contemporary as well to be completed some time in 2007.

Yes this is very true, they actualy have model rooms that you can see and the cast members will be getting new costumes as well. The rooms look amazing and the costumes are supposed to be along the lines of something like a black tweed jacket and black skirt for ladies and just a nice black suit for men. So I think after the re-model people will definately want to stay there and quit calling it the Holiday Inn of Disney! Which I disagree with, it's a very nice resort, and I had many friends that worked there!:sohappy:

So are you saying a water ride is unlikely in Canada?:(

You're reading too much into people's responses. Earlier I said there was plenty of room for expansion in World Showcase. That did not mean they are planning on building any of the rumored rides such as Brother Bear raft ride, just that there is enough room in World Showcase to build in if they wanted to.

Dont forget about the one pick and back pack that is supposed to be a large hike camp :hammer:

Some of the rumors that have been mentioned couldn't be ready in 2006. There just isn't physically enough time to construct them.

Considering the damage in the Gulf region, it will be expensive and difficult to obtain construction materials. We've already seen cost increases of over 25% and supply delays of up to two months.
