Disney Hollywood Studios

Does anyone else agree that the park in most need of attention is The Disney Hollywood Studios? Last year we went, last week of May through first week of June, and the crowds were unreal. I understand summer is busy. I have been to WDW many times during the summer, but the crowds at Disney Studios were unbelieveable. TGMR had a 1 hour and 30 minute wait. Muppets and star tours were and hour and 15 minutes.

The Studios do not have enough attractions to handle the massive crowds that pass through the gates. The crowds at the other parks were no where near that bad. The entire week was bad. I noticed that on our last trip also.

I believe TGMR needs a major refurbishment. That attraction is the same now as it was when the park opened. I love the attraction; however, it needs some new scenes and a new guide script. Also, star tours and muppets need a good refurb too.

I know, I know, they are adding the Pixar attraction and they are working on the Hunchback theatre. But, they need to add more than that. Seriously, they have suspended all production from the soundstages. How bout adding some attractions there? Of all the Disney parks, this is my least favorite. It was my favorite at one time, now I can't bear to imagine the crowds.

Anyone else have some thoughts? Agree or disagree?

yep, needs more attractions. That said, most of the attractions which are in the park are great (RRnC, ToT, Fantasmic)

You must have just gone at a particularly crowded time.

On an average, non-peak season day, you can usually walk on Star Tours, and wait 30 minutes tops for Tower of Terror.

I agree that the park needs a lot of attention, but it is actually beginning to receive it now.

The thing that I don't get about the Studios is that it has unlimited potential and material on which to draw (TV, Movies, etc are always introducing new stuff - tons of stuff to tie into attractions at the studios) and this park has largely been ignored for years, up until now. I think they need to seriously rethink some of the older attractions. Remove the backlot tour - c'mon, you're not fooling anyone, there are no production shoots there anymore, Catastrophe Canyon isn't real and it isn't exciting anymore. It needs to be removed and use that area for something new. There seems to be so much unused space! (Hello, empty sound stages...) Thank goodness for the new Pixar Place and TSM attraction, but one new attraction (and an updated Playhouse Disney) isn't going to change the fact that that park needs some TLC.

Hopefully, this is just the beginning.
