Disney Halloween Costumes

Have any of you made yourself Disney Halloween costumes? Not the store bought stuff. Last year I made myself a monorail costume, complete with the conductor outfit and nametag. I hooked up my iPod with speakers so when I pressed a button it would say "Please stand clear of the doors..." and would play the Simpson monorail song.

This year I made myself into GizmoDuck from Ducktales. For the most part people didn't know who I was but they knew I looked familiar. It took me forever to finish but I think it turned out pretty well.

If you have any Disney costumes why not post them.

Great job! Love the monorail! I used to make all my kids' costumes. One year DD was Jasmine so I made a flying carpet that she wore around her waist (similar to your monorail, and I made fake legs on the top of it so it looked like she was sitting on top - I'll try to find her old pic and scan it) Her brother was Alladin with Abu sitting on his shoulder.
I love the home-made stuff - I appreciate the work and creativity. Anyone can buy a costume at the Disney store or whatever, but the homemade ones are just so much more memorable.

Not as cool as your Monorail (I was thinking Monorail this year though, that's funny---It was Monorail, SSE, or the Partner's Statue)
but since it was last minute, I sewed this Alice in Wonderland costume. My bf is the Mad Hatter. As soon as its done I'll get a pic.

I'm going to a Halloween party tonight as Pirate Tinkerbell. Hopefully, I'll be able to post some pictures tomorrow.

On Sunday the 28th, at the MNSSHP I saw a girl that was dressed up as Madam Leota from HM. It was soooo cool and original! She wore all black, and then put her head into some sort of bubble thing, and she just looked awesome! I wish I wouldve had the guts to ask her If I could take her pic :)

I was not aware of this thread, I just started a similar one, here is my costume I made for my 4 month old son.

I made the hat, belts, compass, vest, sash and boots. Everything else was bought and altered to fit the costume.

Ok, well this is just an idea that the people here might find funny :-)

I was thinking of "a typical Disney guest," and you could wear the ears wrong and all Disney stuff. Then, you could walk around all day and have a button that says "press me." When people press it, you could say phrases like "What time does the 3 oclock parade start?" or "Can you walk from EPCOT to Disney World?"

Stuff like that - it made me giggle:ROFLOL:

Holy Cow! That's awesome! Did you sew the costume part too? The mask is amazing....you should consider applying to the WDW costuming department!

I designed this costume for my Son before seeing the full size version. I used spray foam on the insides of a hard hat, sculpted the face and covered it with a coat of Tub & Tile sealant, painted the features. The material was very tight on him and the gord had seeds in it too. Pride rock had a CD with the soutrack looped.

Thanks, that was quite some time ago...you should see some of my other nondisney costumes...all award winning.

As a matter of fact I have been contacted in the past and made some good contacts but nothing came of it as I was still in the US Air Force; but I just retired a couple of months ago after 20 years as a Civil Engineer. I design theater sets and costumes for 10 years and have submitted portfolios to Disney a couple times in the past; now that I'm available and just resubmitted my application and resume last month. I contacted everyone I know and haven't been hooked. While attending Disney Institute Management programs Mark Jones and Steve Riley said they would hire me for Central Shops as well.

Here are more images of the costume...and yes I sewed it all myself.
I will share more of my creations if anyone is interested.
