Disney got my money for the last time

I'm sure Disney won't even miss you. Lack of planning on your part does not constitute an emergency on theirs.

Well this thread shows why Disney can kick its paying customers with crying kids out of their parks and get away with it too.

Once Upon a Time you'd pay for a day at a Disney park and your daughter got to see the $%# fireworks. Just like the commercial.

Now they want you to pay again at 7 or they'll boot you out. Sucks to be you. Should've checked page 237, section 3 sub B. If not, your fault because our employees (unlike you!) can't possible be expected to keep up with all that planning and endless upcharge events.

Wish I could like this twice!

Poor planning. As with anything, find out for yourself with a couple sources to ensure you have your facts straight. Relying on people to tell you is dangerous because there are a lot of moving parts. I'm sure she didn't do it on purpose.

Ride stoppages and closures happen.

You also probably could have purchased tickets to the Halloween Party last minute.

You seem more disgruntled than anything. It sounds like the only issue you had was one cast member giving you bad information and you failed to confirm for yourself. There is so much information all over the park in print, I'm not sure why the app being down was your downfall.

Also, what specifically went wrong the bands and meal plan? Typically, I see people complaining something is wrong when they actually just don't understand how the bands work, what kind of tickets they bought, or what comes with their particular meal plan.

I'm waiting for it... I DEMAND COMPENSATION.... C'mon, where is it... We've got a Katiebug here...

There was a time not that long ago that the app didn't exist. People were able to still enjoy the parks then... Lots of visitors still go to the parks now without using the phone app.

Also, if your fireworks got rained out Sunday, and it's now Thursday, why didn't you go back on a non-party night earlier in the week?
I asked for nothing but to see the fireworks from the park. Nothing more. In fact, when fast passes were offered I refused.

you're right, i mistakenly believed that someone who did this for a living knew their job. Obviously a mistake.

Yes, they do. Normally i brush it off, but it's just part of a bigger snowball.

Not in the budget.

no, i understand them perfectly fine. Done it numerous times. Our meal entitlements literally were not showing up despite personally watching them 'fix' them twice at Cornado. Third time was the charm though.

Did you get to go to another park at least?
I guess my question is, why don't people check schedules themselves?
I'm the type of person to be checking every day even if I've seen it, and OP should have checked as well but the concierge definitely screwed up. Literally no one can argue otherwise. Thankfully OP probably went to one of the other parks.

Come on...anyone can make a mistake and you let the mixup ruin your whole trip. All your other issues could and would have been worked out at guest services or after your trip.

Why should they let you watch fireworks if you didn't buy a Halloween party ticket? People give them a sob story all the time.

My story was easily verifiable had Val cared enough to call Cornado. As were the ride problems (she acknowledged she was aware of them).

Oh of course the concierge made a mistake, but it's not a screw Disney mistake. She's a human being and things happen. I went on Labor Day with my week day select passes and you bet I tripled check it wasn't blacked out or Halloween party.

The concierge definitely screwed up but I'm sure they didn't do it on purpose and its not like those Halloween dates are announced at the last minute. I know not everyone likes to plan everything out in detail but special events is definitely something I would have noted months in advance when putting my initial plans together on what day I was going to be in each park.

Furthermore, customer service (not just at Disney but anywhere) does have a limit of what they are going to provide to you for compensation. Think of it from their point of view, it is pretty much your word against the concierge's and the concierge technically didn't lie to you (though I'll admit that doesn't make it right). Now they are going to give you the benefit of the doubt but benefit of the doubt is only going to be worth so much in compensation. Even if they were able to confirm everything, there is still going to be a limit to what they can do. If word got out that all you have to do is complain about a CM and some malfunctioning rides to get into the premium events (regardless of how you feel about them) for free, it would not set a good precedent.

As others have pointed out, there are other non-park locations those fireworks are visible from. And even if the app didn't work, if you have a smart phone, you could've easily looked the information up in your phone's web browser instead. Finally, I find it ironic that even though your kid loves the fireworks, you have decided that you will never take them ever again to see them because of this. That doesn't seem fair. I suggest taking some deep breaths, letting the emotion pass, and learning from this experience so that your next trip is as perfect as can be.

Actually, that decision was easiest, she herself said that she doesn't want to come back. I'll give my money to another company that appreciates it's customers more.

Interesting. I'd probably double check with her once cooler heads prevail before committing to never going back though. Time sometimes has a way of putting things into perspective. But that's just one man's opinion.

What would you have liked them to do?
Let us see the fireworks. Thought that was pretty clear from my earlier posts. I even offered to come back 15 minutes before they started so as to not partake for free what others paid for with the Halloween events.

It's unreasonable to expect that. People paid $75/ticket to see special Halloween Fireworks and you aren't getting it for free. She did the right thing.

You know there are park time guides on the front desk and they usually put one in your check in packet.
You guys must spend much more time at the hotel that i do. I, literally, only saw the main building to fix our band problems and check in. The only time i spend in the room is to sleep. Tonight is the first time the tv has even been in.

I work construction. If i mess something up, it's fixed no matter what the cost. This is no different.
