Disney Gift Cards at the grocery store

I noticed for the 1st time last night that my local Giant Eagle store now has Disney gift cards available for purchase in $25 & $50 values. I am pretty excited about it, one, because I get $.20/gallon in Fuel Perks for every $50 I spend, and two, it will make it so much easier to save for my next trip. I used to buy Disney cards at the Disney Store, but that was a 45-minute drive away from my house. Now I can pick them up with my weekly groceries - pretty much a painless way to save for a trip.

I don't know if they're all like this, but the Coinstar machine in my local grocery store will give out Disney gift cards. Pretty nice since there's no fee if you get a gift card, while there is one if you want to get cash.

Have you checked lately? The Coinstar website doesn't list Disney as an available option for the gift cards and certificates.

Also, as I recall when it *was* available on the machines, it was an e-certificate for disneyshopping.com, not a Disney Gift Card.

And for those who don't have access to a Disney Store, you can purchase a Disney Gift Card at www.disneygiftcard.com, where you have a choice of a couple dozen designs, and get free standard shipping. (And if you *do* live near a Disney Store, these cards can also be recharged at your local store)

I'll admit, it was over a year ago that I last went to a Coinstar :o but I did get a regular Disney gift card, I used it in WDW.

I went to several stores in the Denver area and one in Branson and not one of the CMs knew how to reload cards. I just ended up buying Disney Dollars. I was kind of disappointed.

Come to think of this...I was in The Gateway Towers in Downtown Pittsburgh and they were selling gift cards from Giant Eagle in the lobby and giving everyone down there 20 cents off gas for every $50 spent. I bought South West gift cards and the woman asked me where I was going. I said Disney and she said ohhhhhhh well we are working with them now to get Disney Gift Cards....This was back in August. Giant Eagle just got them this week! Pretty cool.

Odd. I know that some newer CMs in my local Store sometimes needed to double-check with a manager because they hadn't learned it, but from my observation from the Guest side of the counter, it's one extra key-press. They press "Gift Card" and then choose a number option to indicate "reload" rather than the default "new".

We don't have a Giant Eagle where I live (or anywhere close to here), but Brookshires and Walgreens usually sell a variety of gift cards. Oh, how I wish they would carry the Disney gift cards!!!

I'm an Executive Assistant Manager with Walgreens and we do sell Disney Gift Cards.

They come in Non-Demonination and you can load them with $15-$500.

We have the Mickey, Princesses, Toy Story and Cars designs.

I have been buying one a week as a way to help my store's gross profit and put away money for my January trip!
