I have an idea for a game and am working on getting it to the Imagineers without my idea being stolen and getting no credit at all. I thought I would post it here and see what you thought.
· You start out the game in 1940 and go through to build: Disneyland, Magic Kingdom, EPCOT, Disney-MGM Studios, Animal Kingdom, Tokyo Disney, Disney Land Paris, Disney Studios Paris and Disney Hong Kong.
· As the name suggests your main decision is whether to keep Walt’s dream alive, or to go for a moneymaking empire. Obviously, the best status is a combo of both.
· To let you know how you are doing you have two status bars, one to tell you how well you are keeping Walt’s dream and another to tell you how the company is doing.
· Rides will be pre-built so you just place them where you want them to be in the park.
· An automatic mode will let you let the game automatically zone different lands, buy land, and form landscapes.
· All rides except for the ones that were in Disneyland when Disneyland opened will be available 3 years before the year that it opened in real life, the rides that were in Disneyland when Disneyland opened will be available when you start the game in 1940.
· 2 modes; Imagination mode and Simulation mode, in Imagination mode you play without having to worry about money so the only limit is your imagination. In Simulation mode, money is a factor.
· Expansion packs should be released every 2 years with new rides, parks, etc.
· Choice of depth; you can choose from just building the park to setting the price for a Mickey Mouse ice cream bar.
· One of the main things that puts “Dream” in the title is that you choose whether or not to replace rides or close rides etc. So you want to keep If You Had Wings open in Tomorrowland. Close Snow White in Fantasyland for Buzz Lightyear’s Space ranger Spin. The choice is up to you.
· Every ride in Disney history is available from Mr. Toad’s Wild Ride to Test Track. Including variations such as the Disneyland version of The Mad Tea Party without the giant teapot in the middle and more detailed teacups.
· Feeling dumb about closing World of Motion in favor of Test Track demolish the whole building and build a new one twice as big to house both attractions.
· Rides can take between 6 months to 3 years to be built depending on how many workers you have working on the ride and how skilled they are.
· 1 minute real time= 1 hour game time.
· Is the Carousel of Progress not attracting as many visitors as you would like? Do you spruce it up, close it, or leave it like it is?
· Sick of spin and puke rides like Dumbo everywhere you look? Don’t build them! It’s your choice.
· Would you rather have a version of the Haunted Mansion that follows the plot more like the Phantom Manor at Disneyland Paris? It’s your choice.
