Disney Florida Adventure Theme Park

I'm not saying this should be a thing, it's just a concept.

This would be a bold mixture that has a bit of water park in it, there will be some areas that be like a water-park (but with the world-class theming of a theme-park) so batting suits are optional but recommended.

Saint Augustine - The gateway to the park would be themed to St. Augustine in North Florida. It is the oldest town/city to date and it is from 1565. The park icon would be "El Castillo De San Marcos", which is an old fortress. Inside would be an animatronic/movie spectacular along the lines of O Canada themed to the great state of Florida. The Fountain of Youth would be a fun little detail, and when you look down into the fountain, the mirror reflects a "younger" you (using something like the technology of FatBooth and NextGen). At night, there would be a firework spectacular above the fortress.

The Everglades - Here is where what could be the park's greatest e-ticket would reside. An EMV dark thrill ride themed to an airboat would take you on a crazy adventure through the night swamps with "Killer Crocs" chasing you down. There would also be a walk-through animatronic attraction/show of a taxidermist house come to life with animals on the wall singing and dancing.

The only non-original area of this park would be a corner of the Everglades which includes a The Princess and the Frog boat ride and a restaurant themed to Tiana's Place.

Space Station - Many people do not know that many space shuttles launch in Florida! Mission Space would be moved here and will undergo a massive refurbishment. There would also be a omnimover themed to roving Mars.

South Beach - Here would be a wave pool, a night dance party like ElecTRONica, and an amazing crab restaurant. And an airplane tours attraction like "If You Had Wings" where you board a 4 person airplane and soar over the Sunshine State.

Atlantis - Obviously fictional, but Atlantis has been discovered to be below Florida, inside this humongous indoor land you'll see a dark ride through the kingdom of Atlantis, and a thrill coaster themed to Poseidon unleashing anger similar to Rock 'N Roller-coaster.

Turtle Lake State Forest - This forest that looks like a jungle is host to a walk-through attraction, a Jeep ride through the forests, and an e-ticket Pandora's Box attraction themed to an expedition to save the last two yellow spotted tortoise.

Thoughts?

Hello Turtle,

I like quite a few of your ideas here about a Florida Adventure park. I would offer just a few additions and alterations. For one, it might be a good idea to put "El Castillo de San Marcos" at the center of the park with St. Augustine behind it making it analogous to the Cinderella Castle and Fantasyland as the central focus of the Magic Kingdom (or hub where the other lands radiate out from). Since the fort and St. Augustine have been moved further into the park, you might want to make Key West as the entry to the park. It could be accessible by boat and would have lots of stores and restaurants. In fact two thirds of the park could have a waterway around it kind of in lieu of the berm and the Magic Kingdom Railroad around Magic Kingdom, to emphasize Florida's enormous coastline. Boats could ferry guests to other parts of the park via this waterway. With your Space Station idea, I probably would leave Mission Space at Epcot. Nevertheless, you could still do something that connects your park idea with Kennedy Space Center. Perhaps a large rocket ride, maybe called Orion since that may very well be the next major space vehicle program since the shuttle program has been retired. It hopefully would be a little more engaging than the Mission to Mars attraction that used to be at Tomorrowland. Nevertheless, your ride in space might terminate at a Mars Colony base with domes. This could help avoid the absence of gravity issue on the Space Station and the limited gravity on a Moon Colony. The domes over the Mars Colony could be tinted red to make it seem like you are on the surface of Mars. Some other ideas I had would be to add another land to the north of the Kennedy Space Center/Mars Colony land that is called Daytona Beach. It could be kind of an adult version of Cars Land, since it would be based on real cars and locations. Not only could you have a simulator ride based on parts of the Daytona 500, but the Tomorrowland Speedway could be relocated there since it has kind of clashed with the rest of the theme of Tomorrowland at the Magic Kingdom. However, they should consider adding some additional theming by having the course wind through a city (possibly Daytona) with elevation gains and losses like the Monaco Grand Prix. On the other side of the park, in the northwest, they could add an Aviation themed land as a nod to Eglin Airforce Base (one of the largest bases in the country). Since it opened prior to World War II, you could tie in the theme to that time period. For instance, you could have guests take on the role of the American aviators that volunteered to help the British during the Battle of Britain or the Blitz. They could fly in simulators of Spitfires trying to stop German bombers and fighters from bombing London or other locations during the war. Another ride could involve guests flying as a part of bomber crews on B-17s and B-24s as they attempt to take out a V-1 and V-2 rocket base on the European Continent. To make it more interesting, not only could Messerschmitt ME-109s attack, but also ME-262s (the first jet fighter). These are just some of my ideas that would add to the suggestions you have already made. Good concepts though.

I love the idea, always have. I just never thought it could work, you proved me wrong. Just a couple ideas to add....

- Florida Keys = The lowest southern point in America, they have huge Cuban inspiration. A great party place and has a distinct look perfect for the park.

- I-Drive = Maybe finding a way to use I Drive as a path between two lands? It would be perfect for shops and eateries.

Just a couple of things I thought of for the Florida Adventure Park. For one, the South Beach area that you brought up Turtle should have buildings with an art deco style to add to the park's authentic take on the state. Secondly, there could be an added attraction or attractions in the waterway off the coast of South Beach. Since one corner of the Bermuda Triangle comes really close to Miami, there could be a sunken ship that partly protrudes from the water near there. This ship could be accessible by boat and could offer some additional exploratory opportunities for the park as a whole. It might even be a haunted ghost ship for that matter to tie in with the theme of the Bermuda Triange. Just some thoughts.

Okay, here's an updated version:

The Old Key - Gateway to the park themed to the old town of Key West with a light house as park icon.

Saint Augustine - Inside the large Castillo De San Marcos would be an animatronic/movie spectacular along the lines of O Canada themed to the great state of Florida. The Fountain of Youth would be a fun little detail, and when you look down into the fountain, the mirror reflects a "younger" you (using something like the technology of FatBooth and NextGen). At night, there would be a firework spectacular above the fortress. There would also be a family

South Beach - Here would be a wave pool, a night dance party like ElecTRONica, and an amazing crab restaurant. And an airplane tours attraction like "If You Had Wings" where you board a 4 person airplane and soar over the Sunshine State.

Atlantis - Atlantis has been discovered to be below Florida, inside this humongous indoor land you'll see a dark ride through the kingdom of Atlantis, and a thrill coaster themed to Poseidon unleashing anger similar to Rock 'N Roller-coaster.

Cars Racing Land - Similar to Daytona tracks this wouldn't be your normal Cars land. You'd be in the heap of a racing arena and inside is the big attraction. Inside the arena would be a massive e-ticket using Radiator Springs Racers technology but in an arena with the thrill portion being when you're launched. Other attractions include a Ramone's new paint shop similar to Goofy's Paint N Playhouse in Tokyo and an interactive animatronic show with Mater and the rest of the Radiator Springs gang [except McQueen]

Turtle Lake State Forest - This forest that looks like a jungle is host to a walk-through attraction, a Jeep ride through the forests,

-I think you meant killer alligators, not crocs.

-I would just call "Cars Racing Land" Daytona and include the Cars characters, as well as many other NASCAR drivers in Cars character form.

-Ditch Atlantis, it just sounds like an attempt to get more rides in.

-You still need more attractions. I think the Space and Everglades areas have much more potential. You could also squeeze in a couple shows in some areas.

Ditch Atlantis for an amazing Bermuda Island [mysterious island on steroids without a big volcano]

But that's got little to do with Florida. Remember your theme is to show guests the beauty and culture of the state. Don't do a DCA and have areas loosely based on the state.

You know, there is something equivalent to a lost civilization in Florida. In fact, it is a Native-American culture that is sadly absent in most mainstream histories of our culture. As an archaeology minor, I should know. Now who am I referring to? It's the Mississippian Culture, more commonly referred to as the Moundbuilders.

Although the most elaborate sites of this culture are found more in the Midwest, they did manage to breach northern Florida in sites such as Lake Jackson and Fort Walton. Here is a reconstruction of what many feel these villages looked like.

Chromesun_kincaid_site_01.jpg

While not anywhere near as fanciful or advanced as the Aztecs or Incas, the Moundbuilders were clearly a sophisticated people, with vast trade networks, large population centers, and even kings and queens!

I found this really interesting.

I've always been against the idea of a CAP-style being built in WDW simply because I thought the theme would be too vague, however you proved me wrong. I especially like the Everglades land.

Although I'm glad batting suits are optional, because I would much rather wear a bathing suit. :D

You forgot Hawaii ;)
Great ideas. Florida has a rich history, perhaps not as much as California but still enough to make a great theme park.
