Disney Films returning to Netflix

From the article: "Separately, Disney and Netflix have reached agreement on a multi-year catalog deal that today brings to U.S. Netflix members such beloved Disney movies such as "Dumbo," "Pocahontas" and "Alice in Wonderland."

I'm a big fan of the Disney classics. I like the thought of them reaching new audiences. Sure, they are available on DVD/Blu Ray, but sometimes it's nice to just flip through the choices and find movies you love without necessarily "owning" every single one.

I'm all for Netflix having movies I actually WANT to see.

2016 is about current movies. I imagine the stuff that streams instantly will be rotated based on marketing and promotions. Pocahontas, The Great Mouse Detective, the Tinkerbell Series, Dumbo, The Fox and the Hound, Alice in Wonderland, and a few others are all available right now, I just checked.

YAY!!! Netflix had 'Tangled' a while back, then they took it down. Whatever the heck happened?
They used to have Pixar movies up as well. I remember watching Wall-E and Up on Netflix.
It seems that Starz is the current holder of this contract that Netflix will take over starting in 2016. Netflix had a deal through Starz, and that was how they got their Disney movies. That deal ran out, and now Netflix went around Starz and is getting their Disney content straight from Disney.

This is fantastic news!!! I just hope Netflix still exists then as they are having serious financial trouble.
I think they just have to ride out the hard feelings from their attempted price restructuring. They were doing great before that, and everyone I know loves Netflix.

2016? That's a very long time, I guess this is Netflix's way of saying, "just keep paying - things will improve." That's too bad, I just cancelled my account because my household eventually got bored with it. I will look into joining again, if and when the Disney movies get there.

They had to wait until the current contract with Starz ran out. When did you cancel? I feel like Netflix has gotten a lot better about adding new stuff in the past 3-4 months.

It really doesn't surprise me that as soon as I cancelled, things drastically improved. I cancelled almost two months ago, coupled with the fact that I haven't watched any Netflix programs for at least 2-3 months prior to cancelling, so it looks as if I may have acted too soon. I only subscribed to the streaming portion of Netflix, but overall this service was underutilized in my household. But, thanks for informing me about the new stuff, I'll make sure to check it out.
