I tend to agree. I would support a change if it’s a maintenance problem. If it’s changing for changes sake? I need more info.

Boy, if they plan to close this over the summer, it tells me a bit about their optimism in stealing park goers from Universal for at least a day or so to get to MK. "Come spend an extra $1,000 on your trip to experience the Magic Kingdom, minus two of the more iconic rides in the park."

Almost certainly not. This permit was filed by Facility Asset Management, not Walt Disney Imagineering. Any changes related to those projects would likely be part of those projects and managed by Imagineering.

I'm more curious to see what nonsense they come up with for the Stretching Gallery. That scene will be a much harder needle to thread and I don't know that they have the talent.

When Constance first debuted, the actress portraying her, Julia Lee, wrote on her website about it saying she would be in the Mansion for approximately 20 years. Sounds like contracts are done and they HAVE to change it.
99% Chance it isn't messed with. All the recent rumors around the hanging man stem from the same comment from an LA Times article from 2021. He will go away, just not now.

This makes me question it being the attic. That work in DL was WDI. They’re usually VERY hands on with Mansion updates. This ain’t Mermaid.
It may well not be related to a scene update, or it could be the start of work, which will later be handled by WDI. We've seen a FAM permit filed before a show change in the past.
I think it's very likely we will see the DL bride change at WDW at some point, and this permit may be the start of that process, or not.

FAM being in charge of a project doesn’t mean WDI is not involved. If it’s changing something existing it generally falls to FAM who then “hires” WDI to do the design work for the project.

Actually, If you look at the original formulation of the scene before the Hatbox Ghost was removed it was heavily implied she beheaded him.

TDO loves their Mansion. Little tweaks around the resort have been welcome (like the Ichabod window projection). Even if you don’t love the Hatbox Ghost placement - his setup and backdrop is great.
So with that being said and for what it’s worth - I have heard that the idea of bats (crows?) flying around in place of the hanging man has been tossed around. It would be a hologram effect if they go that route.
I also question with the sensitivity changes scaling back if changing the hanging man will remain on the table but that’s pure speculation on my part.

This is a rumor from when the Mansion was closed for a year saying they were replacing the hanging man. It wasn't true then, it isn't true now. There is concept art of bats in the stretch room, but it's from the 2006 makeover. The only thing that made it into the Mansion was the sound of fluttering bats added to WDW's stretching room.

I was told it was on the table again. The same person who showed me plans for the new bride 6 months ago. The project went over budget so the hanging man portion was cut and will be addressed in future refurbishments. Unless they change their minds and leave the effect.
