Surely cant be considering even more refurbs for the peak season, there's going to be nothing left at this rate. And I do get the irony of moaning about refurbs when we've been begging for them for years.

Just seems an odd one to be refurbing yet again, feels like HM gets way more love than some other attractions that are in far more need of some updates.

If this is truly a scene update, this is the first time where I personally have to throw up my hands and honestly ask why they want to waste the money when they're penny pinching so many other places... and to be very honest the notion that the current bride scene is controversial feels like a stretch

Honesty we haven't seen much penny pinching for a while.

I'm not a fan of Constance and don't have any inherent issue with the new one in a vacuum (it's not great, but not worse than Constance), but I don't like how they handle the new one; I'm reading stuff about how in the Disneyland version the floating candelebras around the ride are now specifically implied they're being held by the Bride (with a new one added at the end)? If that's actually what they're trying to imply that's such a lame and unnecessary addition. It sucks all the mystique right out of it in exchange for a not particularly compelling story.

I know Paris has a custom made story all about the Bride, but we're not Paris, we don't have to try and force her to be a huge deal. Staying in the one scene is good enough for every other ghost, it's good enough for her.

They have updated the Bride so many times, I honestly don't care. The original effect wasn't an axe murderer anyway. Just an eerie glowing Bride with a beating heart you could hear. If this is really it, I'll get to experience the effect in DLP in May. Just don't change anything about the portrait gallery.

I also wouldn't be surprised if part of this has to do with the fact that they'll need to do new landscaping and likely a new(ish) queue for the cars villains expansions. Heck they'll probably need to figure out the new sightlines and hiding its show building with new paint or keeping some of the big trees.

My article on the history of the Haunted Mansion Attic with my thoughts on the new Disneyland Bride.
This is one time I'm not upset about losing the latest design element in a ride. Constance as an axe murderer is a recent addition as far as HM history goes. I would rather she go back to a version where she's eerie and mysterious anyway. More like the one below which I hear DL now has a variation of.

Yeah, obviously with new technology and they have added in a connection of her to the candelabra seen throughout the mansion - but definitely more of the eerie, forlorn love vs the evil axe murderer
