Disney Fantasy Stateroom Question

Getting ready to book a 7-night Eastern Carribbean for September 2013!! We were assigned to stateroom #7558 (Category 5C). Has anyone stayed in or around this room and have any feedback?

We've sailed the Dream and Wonder pre-kid and loved it! This will be our first cruise with DD who will be almost 4 at the time. The first room we were assigned was right at the entrance to the elevators/stairs and we were concerned about noise so they reassigned us down the hall.

Any feedback would be great! Thanks!

We haven't stayed in that room but it's a good location and it gets good reviews.

For future reference, we love rooms near the elevators they are super convenient and we've never had any noise problems. :)

Good to know! The first room we were assigned was #7572, so just basically down the hall from the new room they assigned. Think that'll make a difference?

7572 is a good room with good reviews too. You're not terribly far down the hall in the new room, so I think either one is great! Sometimes the walks down the hall are crazy long, but yours is good. :)

Not to hijack this thread, but we are staying in an Aft Navigator Verandah on the Dream (#8674). I have read in several places where people complain about vibration. We have stayed aft on other ships and never had much of an issue unless seas were rough or when docking. Several people have specifically complained about aft vibrations on the Dream. I am fine with vibrations while docking or undocking, but not a fan of having them all night long. Anyone have any "reasonable" experience with this. I say reasonable because some people will complain about everything. I am probably overthinking this. Thanks!

I've seen those discussions. I think some people will be bothered more than others and may be a little more sensitive. Some things can be fixed like rattling hangers, etc. I can't say it will be vibration free all night, but I will say the reports haven't stopped me from booking a far aft room on one of our upcoming cruises. :)

DisneyFan1003, I decided to look at the deck plans to get an idea of what areas you are talking about. One thing I noticed is that 7572 does not adjoin to any other cabins, so that could be seen as a positive. I personally would not pick cabin 7572 because of how close it is to the elevators/stairs (bad experience on Carnival once). However, I have not been on a Disney cruise so I am not sure how loud that area can get or the exact way Disney lays out the area.

Quick additional question for everyone, are all Disney cabins triple capable? I notice triangles on some of the cabins. Are triangle cabins quads? Are triples convertable couches and quads have the ceiling bunk and a convertable couch?

I've never had a problem on Disney and we've been near the elevators a few times, but I understand being cautious. :)

The triangles you are seeing are for connecting staterooms. The triangle points towards the stateroom it connects with.

All staterooms are triple capable, not all staterooms are quad capable. All categories have quad capable rooms but not all rooms were built with the pull down.

That doesn't mean that you can always put 3 people in a stateroom. If a category is starting to get full they will limit the rooms to doubles or triples, no matter how many people will physically fit in the room.

I agree with Tammy, rooms by the elevators/stairs are actually very convienent and we've never had a problem with the noise. Some times you can get rooms that are quite far from this area and you may feel like you have been walking for days just to get there, which may not be such a bad thing with all the eating :) Because your room is still just down the hall you won't have that problem anyway. Happy Planning :D

Thanks to everyone for your input! After speaking to our travel agent, we decided to book cabin #7558. It was just about six doors down from the first room, so still not a bad walk from the elevators! So excited to be headed back on the seas with Disney...and taking DD for her first cruise! If anyone has any tips on the Fantasy, please toss them my way!

I think that sounds like a great plan :) We are taking our 2-year old son on the Fantasy on 09/29 so I will be more then happy to answer any of your questions. I wish I could promise to write a trip report when I got back but I am terrible with the whole writing thing, it would literally take me months to finish, haha. We are doing a stay at WDW before we jump on the Fantasy and I actually just went back and re-read your last TR which has been very helpful (thank you for posting it). Because we have already done 2 cruises with our son I am very comfortable with most of that (although they weren't with Disney) however the WDW planning has been a challenge, travelling with a wee one is definitely different but it will be SO worth it !!

Glad to hear that my report helped - feel free to message me with any WDW toddler travel questions and I'll pass along any advice I have. I'll most likely bombard you with cruise questions when you get back in September! We've taken our little one twice now - her third trip will be this October. We've had a blast and can't wait to take her again - each trip has been a big learning experience! We've cruised with Disney twice, so at least we're not headed into the total "unknown" but having her with us next year will add a whole new twist. We sail 9/28/13, so the same cruise you'll be on this year! We're planning to add a few days at WDW after the cruise next year as well - can't make it down to Orlando without a visit to the parks!!

My "little one" was 6 for her first Disney cruise. At 17, she's now a Platinum Castaway Club member. (And leaving for her next Disney cruise in 5 days!) I'm sure she'd be happy to answer any questions you have about Child Services. :)
