I read somewhere that Disney offers special packages to create a magical occasion so you can propose to your loved one. Does anyone here has used this, or know further details?

The Wedding Pavillion I beleive is the one who handles this. It's gotten so popular lately, that they've had to create a special position for this particular job... I beleive there was an article about it in a past issue of Eyes & Ears. I think they mentioned that they do an average of 5 per week... and 9 alone on Valentines Day... the things they can do is AMAZING... :)

Yeah, I read how they have on in that rose garden by Main Street, or a yacth, and even a limo service and Mickey and Minnie.:D

At the top of that page, it says, To book one of these romantic, fairy tale Engagement events, please contact the WDW Engagement office at (407)824-5130. Did you try that?

What exactly do you have up your sleeve, HMMMMMMMMM? ;)

do you plan on proposing to someone special?:) I read somewhere (can't remember where) that this one lady ate a meal at a character breakfast with her boyfriend. Some Pooh characters came out with a cake that said "Will you marry me?" that's a way a pretty creative way.

No, I didn't call because I don't think I'll be able to book anything like that. I am planning on proposing, but I still have to be sure money-wise. And my parents want to go with us, so....:hammer: Big impediment right there.

I remember hearing about this one guy that did this... he found his girlfriend's favorite and most comfortable fitting dress shoe... and sent it out to Disney. Disney then custom made a Glass Slipper that would actually fit her foot... (Meanwhile, the girl was wondering where she lost that shoe!)

He ended up proposing to her in front of Cinderella Castle by having her try on the Glass Slipper. To no surprise... it was a perfect fit.

I can't imagine how expensive that must have been... I do know he planned it like 12mo in advance... but I thought that was incredibly fairy tale romantic :)

Call them anyways... tell them your budget, and situation... They'll be able to come up with the perfect way that will fit your needs! :) You know how Disney can work it's magic after all...

Call me crazy, but I would be content with a simple, romantic and private proposal.... If it is at Disney, perfect, but I don´t think I would need all the show and efforts of so many people. I want to be able to react as I feel like it at that moment without worrying of people around us.

It could be at any time, at any place, but a quiet romantic, moment just for the two of us. ;)

As long as we're telling engagement stories....mine took a couple months to plan.

I was in the Univ of Wis marching band. After the halftime show of each game, I would always go up into the stands and hang out with my girlfirend until the 4th quarter started (the band sat behind the north end zone). Well the last home game of our senior year, I only talked to her for a few minutes, and then went back to the band. She was so mad because she thought I "ditched" her that she almost left.

Little did she know that as soon as the 4th quarter began, I came out with about 100 band members. She came down in front of the entire student section where she was closed in a circle of band members as I got down on one knee. When i got down on one knee, she immediately started crying, and when she said yes, the entire student section began cheering.

That's pressure.....75,000 seat stadium, and at least half could see what was going on. Funny part is that the opposing team scored a touchdown just as she said yes, and the crowd was so busy cheering for us, the other half of the stadium couldn't figure out why they were cheering.

After the game, she was allowed out onto the field for our post-game show (which is just us goofing off - the 5th quarter). She was able to dance and sing and polka with all of the people who helped me plan this.

I was going to propose at WDW, but i figured she'd see that coming :)

Ha ha, here's mine.

I came home, and John was waiting for me. He blurt out, "I've been ring shopping, and I am so confused! They have square, and round, and marquis, and gold, and platinum...I just don't know what you would like!" So we went together-- after finding THE ring (nice, but not so expensive we couldn't afford a house-- LOL-- MAJOR consideration for us!!!), we carried it out of the store in a bag and went out to the car. I looked at him expectantly, but he started to drive. I said, "HELLO???" Well, he said I wasn't getting it yet.

I know he wanted to plan everything so it would be "just right".

But I said, "JOHN. You have the ring NOW. WTH are you waiting for??? ASK ME!!!" He started laughing and asked, "Now?!?!??" And I said "YES! PULL THE CAR OVER AND ASK ME!"

So he did :D

Is that romantic or what?

Becky's ring traveled all over before she got it....

The wednesday before the planned proposal I skipped class and spent all morning in my local jeweler pick out the perfect ring.

The day of the game, I had to be out on the field and march, and I didn't want to take the chance of it being lost on the field, so here is it's travels:

Left my apartment with me
Gave to my parents at pre-game concert
Received from my mother after pre-game routine at game
Stayed with me until halftime show
A VERY trustworthy friend in the band who was injured held it for me during halftime.
I took it after I talked to her after halftime, and then it finally made it onto her finger.

Yeah, that's John-- always trying to do the best for everyone-- sometimes I need to force him to sit down and do something for HIMSELF and not me/the neighbor/the friend/ the relative...

Whenever we get hit with a bad snowstorm, he throws the tow ropes in the Scout (one of his rebuilds) and drives around looking for people to pull out of drifts.

Here's John at the grocery store: helps old lady lift frozen turkey...helps short lady reach high object...etc...etc...

He is the type of guy who spends 2 hours clearing our driveway and sidewalks of snow, and then goes and does the old lady's driveway across the street before she even knows it has snowed!!!

I am definitely rambling by this point. But he really is a great person and considering the 3 yrs of h*ll I went through before meeting him, I came into this relationship with a lot of baggage and this wonderful man who had never even had a girlfriend before AND came from a broken home has sure been the best husband a girl could ask for.

:) ;)
