Disney downtown parking

I was doing some reading and someone mention that it's hard to find parking in disney downtown due to the construction. How true is this? I'm trying to determine if we should get the wyndham lake buena vista resort or stay else where. We will be arriving a day early and so we wanted to stay at a place close to disney downtown and then check out in the morning and head to the Poly. According to the rep I spoke to the Wyndham resort is within walking distance to disney downtown.

A new parking garage has opened at Downtown Disney, so the parking situation has improved. That said, there is still plenty of road construction in the area so it will take a little longer to get places. If you can walk from your hotel to Downtown Disney, it shouldn't affect you at all.

thanks again. i would prefer to walk but when i last spoke to my husband he said he would prefer to drive because of the heat.

Just an FYI, the Wyndham is actually closer to most of the stores in Marketplace end of Downtown Disney than the new parking garage is. So driving over won't save you any walking, and it might even increase your walking...

I've never had to drive around more then twice to find parking in the lot nearest Once upon a toy most recently visited in October but I also have arrived between 10 and 11 am any time I've attempted to park.

Just an FYI, the Wyndham is actually closer to most of the stores in Marketplace end of Downtown Disney than the new parking garage is. So driving over won't save you any walking, and it might even increase your walking...
