Disney Dollars?

Just wondering can you still get Disney Dollars at any of the parks or at the Disney Stores?

In preparing for our next Disney trip, I want to give my DD disney dollars as her allowance. I called my local Disney Store and got a cast member that had no idea what I was talking about.
Just wondering if they are still available for purchase and if so where. THANKS!:wave:

We have for the most part discontinued Disney Dollars due to theft. Whe TDS run out of them they will not be resupplied. My store ran out two weeks ago. The only place to get them now is in the parks.

Every year we've gone, we've gotten them at the customer service in any of the parks. We've gotten them in MK and Epcot, I'm sure the other parks have them too.

Yes all of the parks still have them but due to greedy people TDS will no longer carry them.

Thanks for checking! I'm in NJ so getting them in the park defeats the purpose,but if I can order them and get them mailed to me...that would help.

Huh that is good to know. We were looking at getting some for my nephews for X-mas this year..There goes that idea.

They are still available at the parks....you can get them at City Hall on Main Street. The styles change each year. They are always perfectly crisp and brand new..denominations of 1, 5 10

This really es me off, I love Disney Dollars. Giving a young child a gift card is so impersonal and just not the same as giving them DIsney Dollars.

What I tell people is to try ebay they will pay less in shipping.

When I worked at the Disney store our assistant manager was stealing them to fund her trips to WDW.Until one day the police where there and took her out in hand cuffs she was doing fake returns for cash also.She lost her job at the Disney store but Disney didnt press charges.She is an accountant for a Dr,s office now.Im sure one of these days her name will be in the paper for stealing funds from the Dr.

As of October 4th 2009 The Disney Store no longer sells Disney Dollars. However, they are still available from Disneyland and DisneyWorld Resorts.

Cast Members stealing them. When someone pays with DD you are supposed to stamp them canceled and use a hole punch on each end, this is so people can't reuse them. A select few un honest CM's have not been doing this and pocketing them.

i love the idea of disney dollars... But today? I would never buy them.

I want interest bearing disney bonds - something i can buy for my children that will grow at bank rates, or have a steady value (as in "buy 4000 of these? - you get a 7 day vacation for two - forever").

We purchased disney dollars at the front desk of our Disney resort . . . last trip was October 2009. You can only purchase disney dollars with cash. We don't have a Disney Store in the area anymore, so I can't help you with that part. Good luck and have fun on your next trip.:wave:

It's a shame that the Dollars won't be readily available at the Stores any more. I like to give them as gifts all year long, too. And, we've discovered they work better than the gifts cards for the 5-7 yr. age group that doesn't have quite as good a grasp on math yet. 20 Disney dollars in their hand is easier for them to understand and budget for than a $20 gift card.
