Disney Does It Again

Despite my "annoying people" thread, Disney its job and once again, the parks were an incredible experience. I just got back from 9 days at AKL.

Disney Parks still remain one of the best values for the money out there, particularly from a vacation perspective. The amount you get for the money is still incredible.

1) Cast members are at an all time best. My experience with nearly every cast member was top notch. I just love the "Have a great day," "Have fun today," and constant postive attitude cast members convey from top to bottom.

2) The parks are immaculate. Everything is super clean and tidy.

3) No unscheduled rides or breakdowns during my trip.

4) Animal Kingdom Lodge is a great hotel. Comfortable rooms, quiet, upgraded to Savannah view for free, excellent staff, and great restaurants (Sanaa, Boma).

5) The new Star Wars fireworks are a great edition to DHS. I enjoyed the improved show over the May version with more permanent speakers, projection, lasers, new lights, and better audio track.

6) MagicBands worked flawlessly. I love the new Fast Pass system. Works very well, app is easy to use, and basically can get on any ride at any time.

7) All the attractions seemed to be in good operating order (overall).

8) Phenomenal performances by the talented cast in all the Disney shows, particularly Festival of the Lion King.

9) Food experience was the best I've experienced. All the food was good. I have zero complaints and ate about 11 table services places (Mama Melrose, Boma, Sanaa, California Grill, 50s Prime, Liberty Tree, Ohana, Crystal Palace, Sci Fi, Teppan Edo, etc). Food was just GREAT at every stop.

I am a huge Disney fan and realize my opinion is somewhat skewed, but the Disney cast really did an outstanding job making our stay enjoyable and seemed to really care if we had a good time every step of the way.

Thank you Disney, can't wait to get back.

Ditto.
Disney always great.
Clean.
Fun.
Cast members always nice.
We always enjoy ourselves.

Guests are the problem.
They make messes.
They gripe and complain.
Disney can't control who walks onto their property.( unless they are fully costumed or concealing a weapon)

On a side note, we always have fun watching families have complete melt downs in the parks.

We're kinda twisted like that!

Same!!! It is so funny when parents melt down, let alone when it's a family affair! We didn't see it too bad this trip, BUT, at KSC, watched a family completely denigrate their daughter, who was probably 12 or 13, because she wasn't holding their seats in the Saturn center. It got to the point that I finally gave them the "lighten up, Francis", and offered our seats to them so the little girl didn't feel so hurt. It was terrible. How some people can think that is OK is beyond me...

You clearly went to a different Disney then the one a lot of people around here complain about. ;)

In all seriousness I also just got back from my trip and had a great time. Was everything perfect, no, but nothing prevented us from having a good time.

That's how I feel about it too. We didn't have a perfect trip. There were some annoying cast members who didn't help as they should and a couple incidents I'll take up with guest services, but those things happen.

99% of the time, they do a great job and we had a great time.

The incident in question was torrential rain during the Halloween Party which I tried to rectify at Guest Services, but easily 200 people were also there complaining. I finally spoke with someone outside and they didn't give me an acceptable answer.

I decided to forget it, enjoy the rest of the night (luckily it cleared up) and deal with it later. I don't blame them because Disney doesn't control the weather, but they certainly control how they respond to it. We ended up seeing the parade and fireworks, so it's all good. I still think Disney will make me whole.

Were you at the party last Tuesday?

Awesome!

So glad to hear you had a great time at Disney!

It's your vacation and you should be able to look at it as such. It' better than a day at [insert what you do for a living here] that's for sure. Always nice to see people post good things about their trips instead of focusing on any details that may have not been 100% what they planned for or on.

We were there too for that rainy party, but didn't feel it was worth the time spent in line to complain. We had a good, but wet time at the party.

I have always had an overall good time at WDW. Aside from Haunted Mansion ALWAYS getting stopped two or three times during a ride, which messes up the narrative (plus the new claustrophobic, screwed-up queue and guests being rushed out of the foyer into the stretching room, which is not how the Imagineers/Walt visualized the ride experience), things have always been pretty great overall.

But I'm still going to focus on Disneyland from now on. Like Rolly Crump said: "Disneyland hugs you".

Our favorite incident happened this year at MK.
A mom and kid were in front of us, just ready to board 7 Dwarves mine train.
Kid( 10 yr old boy) starts freaking out while mom gets on the ride.
He's bawling his eyes out, doesn't want to ride.
Mom's screaming at him to get on.
Cast member comes over.
Says, "There is no yelling at the Magic Kingdom."
Mom says, "I DIDN'T WAIT OVER TWO HOURS TO SKIP THIS RIDE. YOU WATCH HIM".
Ride leaves without the kid.
I guess the CM took him to the exit to wait for his "loving" mother!

Kinda sad.
Even my 15 yr old daughter thought the mom was a b*tch.

Must have been a brand new batch of CP's :p

Glad you had a nice time, I'm jealous. First year of my life without going to WDW. As upset as I am about that I really can't complain.

You get what you plan at WDW. If you can find a good deal on a resort, do your dining and FP reservations WDW is a vacation that can't be beat. Especially for kids. Where wise are kids happy so often on a vacation for a whole week if planned correctly where they're not waiting in lines and all all day.
