Disney Discounts

I have a trip planned right now for July 16th-22nd. I have dining added and park hopping and my total was about $3500 for two adults. Is there normally any discounts during that time period of travel that disney releases? If so what are they and when do they usually announce them?

Also at animal Kingdom lodge what are the chances of getting upgraded to a savannah view from standard room for free? I will be traveling for my 21st birthday there

As for upgrades, doesn't hurt to ask but never expect. After all, you didn't pay for it.

Not too many discounts during the summer. You can keep an eye out, though, and if you see one, then call to see if you can get the discount on your trip. Enjoy!

I looked through the historical discounts on mousesavers.com and it looks like they've had the room discount that usually goes from first week of june to first week of august and starts being available to book the second week of march, so hopefully in the next few days a discount pops up.

On this one Disney podcast (Be Our Guest Podcast) I listen to, there have been a lot of reports of people asking for upgrades and not getting them. So it seems they may not be giving them as often anymore. July might be a really tough time to receive an upgrade also but it doesn't hurt to ask. On my last trip to WDW with my girlfriend, we disliked our room that was given to us (had a weird smell and was far away from everything) and they gave us a new room without hesitation. It wasn't an upgrade though, just a new room. The location was definitely an upgrade though

You may have a good chance at hotel room discount but not dining.

Not sure if they will or not. But for what it's worth I do know there is a pin code being sent out right now for summer! I received it in the mail yesterday for dates - 6/1 through 8/27. It is a room discount to save up to 30%. It says "30% savings is for select Deluxe Resorts and Deluxe Villas, and lower savings may be available at other select Resorts." So this makes me wonder if they are going to come out with a general public offer sometime soon for these dates.

Of course I do not go in the summer, my trip is in Nov so I will not need to use this. This is the discount I am hoping for, for my WL stay! Hope you end up getting this pin or something comes out for the dates you are going!
