Disney Dining Plan...

....I KNOW this is a slightly moronic question, but as I'm a virgin to the Disney Dining Plan, I needed to be sure. We're going to Disney for 11 Nights, 12 days. For the DDP, we get 11 days of food right? Not 12? I was just going along, planning our TS meals when all of a sudden, I was like, Crap. I think we only get 11, even though we'll be there for 12 days. Thank you!

From the disney site (for regular dining plan):

Disney Dining Plan
With your Disney Dining Plan, for each night of your package, each Guest in your party (ages 3 and up) receives:
1 Table-Service Meal

1 Quick-Service Meal

1 Snack

Monty

Brilliant...and Canadian
In the Parks
No
Also remember that it's 11 credits of each that can be used at any time during your stay from check-in until midnight after you check out.

If you want to have a TS breakfast and eat at Signature dining for lunch and dinner on the same day, you can use five credits in one day to do that [despite it not being the most sane way to use your credits... :lookaroun]

I don't think you ask a "moronic" question at all. If you have never used the DDP it can be a bit confusing. The great thing is that every time you eat somewhere, you will get a receipt with a print out of all the TS, QS and snacks still available. I found this very helpful while on the plan. And as Monty has already pointed out, you have to be careful that you aren't using too many points on Signature meals. That will eat up your options real quick and leave you frustrated toward the end of your trip when you find yourself without any more table service credits.

I found that using a QS for breakfast, a snack credit for lunch and then a single table service for dinner was my best touring plan with the DDP.

Best of luck and have a great trip.

Thank you all so much! Not really sure if with gratuity and alcoholic beverages, this will be saving us much at all, but it's nice to think so. Especially when we paid to upgrade from the free quick-service plan - my steak at LeCellier will STILL feel like I'm getting a $40 piece of meat for $10 plus tax - so I'm thinking it will work out either way! :)

An easy way to "budget out" your meal credits is to (mentally) assign a "set" of credits to each of your full days in WDW, and then lump your arrival and departure days together and "assign" the one remaining set of credits to them. Chances are you won't be in the World for a full day on either of those days, so you may not be using "a whole day's worth" of credits on your arrival day or departure day.

So on your arrival day, perhaps have a Table Service dinner, and then grab a Counter Service lunch (or breakfast even) on your departure day.

Then, you can safely assign out one Counter and one Table service credit for each of the other days on the trip, swapping things around as necessary (like using "Friday's" Table Service credit on Thursday to have both breakfast at Chef Mickey's and dinner at Le Cellier, then use "Thursday's" Counter Service credit as dinner on Friday).

At least that's how *I* keep my dining credits organized in my head...
