I agee that WDW is a resort and they are charging resort prices. However, your statement that the rest of us are perceived as not smart enough to realize this fact is basically arrogance, especially when you follow up with other bonehead statement. (Yes, I called it arrogant and bonehead):
Finally, its Disney. They own the parks and resorts, and they can do what they want with them. If you dont like it, dont go. It will be one less person to take up a ADR.
What is that? If you dont like it, dont go? You sound like an 8 year old? Are you? I figure you must be for I can't imagine how an educated adult can look at the DDP 2007 compared to 2008 and not say "And how is this improvement saving me money?" You almost sound like you are taking personal offence to someone talking bad about DDP when you imply that it would be better FOR YOU if they just stayed home. Nice!
We lost an appetizer and lost the 18% automatic gratuity....but the price went down ONE DOLLAR. And at the end, I'm still tipping 20% out of pocket!!
Uh, how does that equal out to being an improvement in value? If anything, the price actually WENT UP aobut 20-25% when you look at the amount of value we are now getting as compared to before.
And let me get this straight? The meal stinks and that the server should take care of that. That would be easy...but since the service has gone downhill so much with all the restaurants overbooked, good luck with that. If you see your server more than every 15 minutes during a meal, good for you! I can say without a doubt they the servers are too overworked and its gone downhill recently.
And how do you think that there will be less ADR's? There's probably going to be about the same. Just becuase less people aren't doing the DDP doesn't mean they are NOT going to eat! They will just have to pay out of pocket.
And just for the record, I was a busboy for 2 years at a high class restaurant while finishing high school. I saw first hand what it took to provide excellent service no matter how bad a day you were having or what mood you were in. Since then I basically tip 15% for marginal service and the sky is the limit if you kick ______. I actually do understand and appreciate what it takes to be a server in a super busy over priced eatery.
