Disney Dining Pan Questions

Not necessarily. From what I've heard this same loop existed in the pre-2005 packages as well. Disney knows about it, they don't care. They probably assume most people won't figure it out.

i don't know if it is really a "loop-hole" --

do they expect kids to eat hot dogs, chicken fingers, pbj, and mac and cheese for 2 meals a day for a week?

I was told several times that i could order off the adult menu for the kid.

Dining Plan is a PLUS

We are going to WDW in December and this DP is definately a plus! Between my 2 youngest (10 & 5) they MAYBE eat one kid's meal between the 2 of them. The way the DP works, we should be able to eat every meal using the DP without paying anything extra except for a kid's meal each night!

We also will share the CS meals to enable this to work. The double cheeseburger deal with the extra bun sounds good too. It looks like Cosmic Ray's is a good place to order 3 regular CS meals and split them between the 5 of us.

Another thing to keep in mind is sometimes we PLAN on only spending a certain amount and then get home and it averages more than what we expected to spend. This happens! With the DP we pretty much know how we will spend before we go!

I don't see how we can lose on this plan. The numbers show that we come out ahead no matter how we choose to work it.

Thanks for all of the great info....:sohappy:

Maybe this is known, but I didn't see it mentioned. For all of you who are planning on eating 3 meals at Disney, you will be very, very full. I've been at least every other year since I was three years old (1976) and have been amazed at the portions that have been coming to the table in the past few years.

There was no way I could eat breakfast, lunch and dinner every day and still function....and living in New Orleans, let's say I know how to eat :slurp:

Anyway, the table service meals are huge everywhere. I got a sandwich at sci-fi (love that place) that I couldn't finish....let alone any of the other stuff. As it turned out, we ended up giving our dessert to folks with kids who didn't have dessert. Most are individually packaged, so it was an easy give-away.

I'm all for have great meals on vacation or otherwise, but to eat three a day at Disney would make if VERY uncomfortable (bloated or otherwise) while walking all day or riding on rides.

Just my two cents.

I'm not sure what the pre-2005 packages were and if people paid more for them than the current plan, as that could explain them not caring about it. But the current plan is being used by many more people, so if they find that it is costing them more $$ who knows what changes might happen.

Also, my friend was at Coronado and had problems at the Pepper Market too with the eligible items. When we were at Pop, we had no problem with anything not being eligible, if you wanted a slice of tye dyed cheesecake as dessert, it was included. I think that is total nonsense about the key lime pie. When we stayed at Coronado a few years ago, I personally wasn't thrilled with the Pepper Market and their selections.

Just a note.

I just looked over the billing for my families vacation (In 8 days!!!!) and for my Wife, Myself, and my son the total for the dinning plan is $613.87 for nine days.

So lets dissect this... This is thinking that my wife and I will use most of the counter service, and Table service for ourselves and pay for my sons kid meals.

9 days of dinning plan

27 snacks
27 Counter
27 sit down

27 snacks X $3 (bottle water/soda) = $81
27 counter X $13 (App, Meal, Dessert, Drink) $351
27 Table service X $30 (App, Meal, Dessert, Drink) $810

Total $1242 - $613 savings........$629!!!!

GREAT DEAL!!!!!
