Disney Dining Experience Changes Name (Sept 15, 2008)

This almost makes me not want to purchse the card for the first time ever when we make our trip in 17 days. We are going to be first time annual pass holders and decided we should buy "the card formerly known as DDE" because we have three ADRs in this upcoming trip that will save us at least $30 (half the price of the card) and when we go back next September we can save at least another $30.

One question for those of experience. If we aren't going to do a lot of table service at the parks or other places is the card still worth it? We have three ADRs for our next trip (Flying Fish, Le Cellier and Boma) as we won't be traveling with our son. Next September when we go he'll be 2 so I'm not sure we'll do more than counter service and such.

Any help/suggestions are appreciated.

Thanks!

The DDE people really like to just make the first thing that comes into their head public. Remember the email announcing the auto added tip, and now this.

You can also use it at the counter service places in the All Stars, Pop, POR, FQ and Carribbean Beach hotels. So if you stay at any of those and using table service, you'd be surprised how it adds up.

BTW I agree with everyone, it's a silly name, they couldn't have come up with a better name. I like the suggested one above Disney's Culinary Club.

Thanks for the tip Nut. We will be staying at the Beach Club each visit so I'm not sure that we'll take advantage of the discounts at those locations.

Thanks again.

I don't think the counter service at CBR is covered. The sites only list Shutters at Old Port Royale, which is table service. I wish someone could confirm differently, but everything I see says that.

Maybe if they had put more effort into it they could have avoided the spelling and subject-verb agreement errors:

"We have simply decided to do this to help distinguish your membership from any other dining privileges at Walt Disney World Resort that bares a similar name to the Disney Dining Experience."

Every large marketing department should employ at least one English major.

Beaches & Cream you can use it if you are sitting down in the ice cream parlor only, not the take out window.

Have you managed to use it at all those locations?
FQ is certainly on the list, as they dont have a table service. However, as far as I know it isnt usable at CBR or POR because they both have table service locations.

I look forward to reporting to all of you the first blank stare at the Grand Floridian security gate when I announce proudly that I'm going to have my car valet parked as one of my "Tables in Wonderland" perks.

I am just going to call it "Passholder dining card".
I think that everyone will know what i am talking about.

I have already forgotten the new one and I am not even there yet!

I think it only covers CS when there is no TS alternative. So, CS at CBR would not be covered because you have Shutters. CS at an All Star would be because there is no TS restaurant there.

Personally, I find the idea of Escalade-driving, AP-holding, kid-hating, Florida-living, Disney patrons du jour having to flash their "Tables in Wonderland" card at the California Grill downright hilarious.

:D
