Disney Depression

In the months leading up to each trip we take I am in full-on Disney mode. I visit these forums daily and post quite a bit, I visit the official site and play around with other dining reservations or FP+ selections, I read tons of trip reports and new posts, I visit un-official sites like WDWMagic.com, etc. Then the big day comes and we get on property and it's heaven. I love every second of the trip and look forward to getting home and writing up a trip report.

But then, once that last step happens, I kind of find myself in a Disney mood slump. I visit the forums less and when I do I rarely check the new posts (only the ones I'm watching). I don't go to the official site at all and rarely visit any of the un-official sites that I tend to frequent otherwise. I can only describe it as a form of depression I suppose.

Am I the only one this happens to? What do you guys do to pull yourself out of your slump (aside from plan another trip lol)?

When we come back from a trip, we can't even talk about it right away. It's just too sad for us. Then as time passes we start reminiscing, and then of course we start planning our next trip! I also have a Mickey waffle iron, so the occasional mickey waffles for breakfast and coffee in my Epcot mug helps :)

I have had the worse luck. A few months before our September trip I had a car accident and we canceled our trip. I have been planning a trip for May and I have been very sick since October. I had thoughts I may not be well enough for all that walking and may have to cancel. Today was a wake up call when my doctor informed me I'm on a long road to recovery. I canceled my trip today. I'm having a hard time after spending so much time planning. I've decided if we go next year I am just going to book a last minute trip and go on a whim that way I know I'm going!!

I have this problem whenever I get back from any trip, so I'm planning for the post-vacation crash almost as much as I'm planning for the vacation. I'm lining up some projects that I really want to do, socking away a little money for a couple house purchases that I've been wanting to make, that sort of thing. I'm trying to set things up so that when I do get home, I'm happy to be home and have some things to focus my energy on right away. I'm not sure if it will help, but I figure it's worth a shot.

I'm kind of trying to do the same. We typically use our tax return to get out to Disney each year but this year we have a list of things we need/want for the house etc. and really I've gotta put that first. Once the list is done there won't be much left. If anything, I'm hoping to at least have enough left to put down a deposit on another trip and then, for once, save up to pay it off. We really want to get out there after the Mine Train opens but maybe this year, a smaller, non-Disney (GASP) vacation is in order. We shall see. I'm sure that's part of my depression too (knowing there's a good chance we won't go back in 2014).
