Disney Day with anyone you want!

My first would be my Dad - here's the story. He was a huge Disney nut and when I found out I got a job in Disney World he was so excited he called everyone. I found out on a Monday and Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday he had called all of his brothers and sisters, people he used to work with, friends of the family...everyone he could think of. He told all of them that I was going to tell him all about the hidden things backstage he never got to see especially the tunnels under MK.

Friday morning of that week he had a heart attack at work and died.

At the funeral everyone was amazed because even if they hadn't talked to him in months (or years) he had called them days before he died. I went to his funeral and 10 days later went to my job in Disney World - it was a tough decision but my mom and sister and I all agreed that is what he would have wanted.

The toughest day I had at work was when they gave us a tour of the MK tunnels. If I was there I would sneak him in and and we would walk the tunnels so he could finally see.

On a happier note - the best person I DID get to spend a day in the parks with was Joe Rohde. Animal Kingdowm was still being built but almost finished when I was there and I was chosen as one of the CM's to tour the park before it opened - part of a prize for good customer service :D

We rode the Kilimajaro Safaris even though all the animals weren't there yet, and trust me - there's nothing like watching Joe Rohde flailing his arms and yelling with joy about the herds of antelope and gazelles that will be leaping and bounding across the savannah

...though can't recall them ever doing that after the attraction opened :lookaroun

If I could choose a celebrity to hang out with I think either Morgan Freeman if he would promise to narrate my walk around the World Showcase or Anthony Hopkins because I would love to see what he acts like on Tower of Terror or the Rock-n-Rollercoaster

OMG, Tigger! You made me cry, thinking about my own parents when I was a Cast Member! That was their first trip ever while raising 7 children on limited means! I can still remember how happy my Mom and Dad were. I have been planning to go back for 13 years now, but money is always used for 'something'. I really want to go back moreso now than ever, my Dad passed away in 2008, and my Mom passed away just a few months after their Disney vacation:( But its always nice to lok back and remember them at such at good time in their lives! Thanks Tigger!:animwink:

I see I am not in the minority, I would bring Walt Disney or Roy Disney, or both. I would love to just sit and chat with the man that invented the american theme park! and the man who created WDW as a tribute to his brother.

That is an emotional story. Thanks for sharing and I am really sorry to hear that. That sure is special you were able to walk the tunnels too! :)

I can't believe you got to hang out with Joe Rhode!!! I have always wanted to meet him since I watched him on the travel channel Disney specials. He seems like such a cool guy. How intense is his earring in person?? That is a guy full of passion about what he does and I love it!

Non-living would be Walt, hands down.

Living would be my boyfriend, Ryan, even though we go all the time.

Celebrity...hmmm....Robin Williams would be fun. Although, I'd probably pick John Lasseter. I'd love to walk around with him and talk about all the things he'd like to do.

Live people: Bob Iger and Tom Staggs. I would like to walk the parks with them and get their reaction to some of the things we complain about on this board as I point them out and get their perspective on how the decisions are made on where to spend maintenance money.

Non living: Would have to be my father. I was trying to talk him into going back in 1997, but unfortunately he passed away that year.

My Dad. We both went to Disney many times, but never at the same time.

I got to sort of experience it with him, because he always filmed his trips, but I didn't get the chance to see it along side him while he was still alive.

Living person...I would like to take my spouse, who went with me back in 94, but we haven't been able to afford a trip together since.

Celebrity...I would like to travel with Samantha Brown. She looks like she knows how to get the maximum fun out of a trip!

As corny as this sounds, exactly who I am going with, my DH and son. Six years ago, my DH was my fiancee, and my son was here in Jersey. I cried every night! The first and LAST time I went to Disney without my son (who is now 23)

I'd love to visit there with Walt, and listen to his comments about the state of the park today. And then go with him when he storms into TDO and gives the crew there a piece of his mind. :ROFLOL:
