Hi. I have lurked here for a while and just now actually joined the forums. I just bought an item on ebay that may prohibit me from attending the 25th anniversary rededication. I was just wondering if any of you on the forums own actual pieces from Disney attractions. I have just started collecting in the last few years and can't seem to stop. Good to meet everyone.

First off, Welcome to the Boards!

Second, for future reference, there is a collectibles forum on this site that can be found Here. This thread will likely be moved there, so if you can't find it in the New and Rumors section you should probably look there :D

Third, yes, I myself have a small collection of Disney Attraction Items. Seaweed from 20,000 Leagues Under the Sea, An Alien Encounter Seat and Shoulder Harness, A small piece of a Spectromagic Float, Sequins and a Light Bulb from the Epcot Wand, and the entire Piece of Disney History Pin Set, years one and two. Hopefully my collection will grow as the years continue and attractions close ( :( :) ).

I'm sure you've piqued the curiosity of many...so what'd you buy?

I'm curious as well. The way he worded it, it sounds like the item itself is bad and will get him banned from coming into WDW for the 25th Anniversary.

:ROFLOL:

But I'm sure that's not what he meant. Probably meant that it was so expensive that he now lacks the money to go to the 25th. But whatever it is he bought, I'm curious to know.

Haha. I didn't mean the item itself would prohibit me---just now I am a bit short on cash. It was those auctions of various costumes from attractions---the same seller who had the Dreamfinder costume had some more Dreamfinder stuff and some Food Rocks pieces as well. I was surprised no one seemed to mention them on the forums.

I have been following that seller very closely. The seller is

I tried to bid on some of those costumes but between saving for my trip to WDW and money for necessities, I could not afford. If you would like to share pictures of anything you won, check out my blog and drop me a line.

Edit: The only piece of an attraction I own is a fastest finger panel from Millionare.

I was bidding on the Food Rocks stuff and the Dreamfinder costume and a couple of others. Not sure if I won yet because my brother bid on his account for me---i just moved and haven't had time to set up a new paypal account. I'm pretty sure he won something though----in order to afford the stuff and maybe still go to the 25th I am thinking about selling some of my other Disney items that aren't as important to me. I have some of the pieces from Mr. Toad that MouseSurplus sold a few years back such as the Big Red chair from Toad Hall and some background pieces. Don't want to part with them, but I would regret missing the rededication.

Haven't bought to much park things basically because of money and room to put it.

Did a couple of years ago buy a Jafar Cobra staff (with glowing eyes) that was made for a show in Disneyland. DW was not too happy, it was my Birthday, Anniversary and Christmas gift that year.

Also have bought quite a few Cast Coins for opening events. (currently as 6).

Quick update on the seller who had the Horizons, JII, and various other costumes...

I noticed they have been creating new seller names and not sticking to them for very long. I got a message from eBay about the seller...

[FONT=Arial, Verdana] Our records show that you were a bidder or buyer of one or more of this seller's items. We recently removed this seller's active listings and suspended the seller's trading privileges. Due to privacy concerns we cannot share further details about this seller.

If the seller asks you to complete this transaction outside of eBay, we strongly recommend that you do not proceed with the transaction. Transactions for items listed on eBay but then completed off of the eBay platform are not covered by buyer protection programs offered by eBay and can be highly indicative of fraud. For more information on Offers to Buy or Sell Outside of eBay, copy and past the following Help Page link into your browser:

[FONT=Arial, Verdana]You can identify the seller easily because they have no feedback, sell rare items, and usually take pictures in front white doors or tile flooring. They are also located in Florida, I believe West Palm or something like that. I hate to see someone with such great items being banned.

Disney probably nailed him for posession of stolen property. Was this the same seller who was selling the costume for the people who are on the Dream Squad? Talk about dumb... checking a costume out, taking it home and selling it on eBay... :brick::ROFLOL::wave:
