In april my class will be taking a trip to WDW for some physics lesson. In the intinerarey, it says that we will be up at 5 am to get to EPCOT or Magic Kingdom by 6 am. We will have a CM guide to show us backstage in the rides. I was pretty sure disney does not let 8th graders into the service bay of Test Track at 6 am. Does anybody have any info on this type of tour? if you do then please post it.

thanks:confused:

Sorry...No TT invovled. I have seen one of these tour groups in the park. The only attraction I have ever seen them fully explaining is "Honey I Shrunk The Audience" :(

When I did the high school band trip thing, we never went behind the scenes of any rides. We did go behind the countries at Epcot before we marched around the world showcase.

I took the Keys to the Kingdom tour at MK and, again, we never went behind the scenes of any rides (per say). We did see where the floats get prepared (and fixed) and went in the mouse tunnels. We also went through a few "back doors" to get on the Haunted Mansion ride before any regular guests.

In the MK tour, they told us a lot about how some things were done, but never got to see anything.

Maybe they want you up that early to the AK to help scoop "stuff" on the safari ride?

Actually we met a CM who teaches one of these things at the MK.

Bascially, he takes a group to space mtn and explains how the physics of a rollercoaster works and relates it to what they are learning in the classroom.

I'm sure there are other rides/applications, but he used that as an expample with us.

The tour will be AWESOME!!!

Depending on which park you actually go to.....

Most likely you will go see HISTA or American Adventure if you go to EPCOT, and Space Mountain or Haunted Mansion if you go to Magic Kingdom, depending on the Cast Member leading the tour or what the refurb schedule looks like. Either one will be a treat!!

Lots of "physics" to be learned on any of these!

HAVE FUN!!!

Hey, in 7th grade we had a class trip to WDW. We had one of the tours you are describing. Ours was at MGM, we went into the service areas of Tower of Terror, and they explained how it moved, etc. The best part was after we rode it we all had the biggest laugh at the On-Ride Pictures that the CM's took while they were testing it in the morning. We also walked around some general abckstage areas and got an explanation on how the effects of Muppet Vision 3-D works. It was called Disney's Y.E.S. (Youth Education Series) We actually got this t-shirt that glows in the dark.
