I think they should definatly build a disney chicago. but not like DQuest. i think they should build a single disney park with all the classics. i still havn't though of a name though. it would have Hm, Dumbo,Matterhorn, SMW, JC, PoC, CoP, SPAM, Country bears (of course) , SPLM, Teacups, ToT, Muppets, ST, OMD, GMR, HISTA, TT, SSE,LS, AE, skyway, monorail, ttbab. then of course there always is new things to be invented and put in. i think the hat would be a good centerpeice but i don't know yet.

d dude that is a very good Idea..But....
What about the cold?.... I do not, by any means, ...mean to compare Disney to a Six Flags Operation...but.. Great America shutters its gates the Day After Halloween, then Re-opens in late April, Early May. Main reasons are...the cold...and to save on overhead.

I mean...its possible to do an "Old Chicago" type park, enclosed in a building...like the one that existed in Bolingbrook. But, that was rather short lived, and in the middle of nowhere...(but now it is really built up).

I would love a Disney Park....monorail and all to exist in the Metro Chicagoland area...maybe with global warming it will happen....C'mon global warming!!!! Since I tried to move down to Orlando...and that deal fell apart...maybe Orlando can come to us...Warm weather and a Disney Park!

(foot note: notice how mild and warm it has been this winter...and hardly any snow!!....by the way..its supposed to hit 58 degrees on Saturday...time to work on the car! )

You know, it COULD work. Disneyland Paris is open year round, and its colder/rainier there than here in Chicago.

Tom,

I guess you are right...but, would you be willing to rough it at a park when it is 30 degrees below zero with the wind chill? I would..but only the indoor attractions.

Ok....so on that note....Where would you build a Disney Chicago?
I thought about this last night.

Gimmie some Ideas guys.. I was thinking the Chain-O-Lakes, Antioch/Grass Lake Area...also I was thinking out West..by Fermi Lab...toss out some ideas.....

Wasn't there a plan to build a Park in VA., with a Civil War / Ameicana theme?...but that was scraped...I kinda remember the story...and caught it again on "Time and Again" when they were spotlighting the Disney parks a few months back.

Disney will never build another park like Dland or Dworld anywhere else because of the fact that it would cut into attendance big time. Why go to FLA when you can go to CHI? What would be more likely would be the aforementioned America park. The original site was in Virginia near the Manasass? and Gettysburg battlefields. However people raised a big stink about it and it was scraped. The second (rumored) site was in Texas... after Virginia fell thru... and that is dead now. Or at least in the "On Hold" bin. If anything... a mini park that celebrated the host city... Disney Chicago, Disney New York, Disney Seattle, and Disney Atlanta? Sort of a glorified Epcot in minature scale. Think the size of a Home Depot... just an idea

Kind of like Disney California Adventure? Sorry but I still dont see why they though a park about the place it was would work. Why go to get Disney Wine when you can go to the real one?

I was at DLP at the end of March in 2000, and it was snowing lightly. Paris isn't as cold as Chicago, but its close.
