Bill Orton, the certified executive chef for the Disneyland Resort, has created foods for the park for about 20 years. For the last few years, he has developed menu items with a healthier twist.
And he’s even made healthy foods that he likes.
Orton recently shared his favorite, healthier food items for adults — even providing a menu for a day — in the resort’s two local parks and its Anaheim hotels. See a slideshow of some of Disneyland Resort’s healthier food options, right.
Disney declined to release nutritional information for the foods. The menu doesn’t mark the healthier items, but this guide should help navigate the options.
Chef’s-choice menu:
Breakfast: Steel-cut oatmeal at Storytellers Cafe in the Grand Californian Hotel. The a la carte item comes with fruit and toppings. Cost: $5.99.
Lunch: Broccolini Aglio Olio at Wine Country Trattoria in Disney California Adventure. The pasta includes spinach, arugula, tomatoes, broccoli, garlic, chili flakes and olive oil. $13.99.
Snack: Fresh fruit from a stand, such as one on Main Street U.S.A. in Disneyland or Hollywood Pictures Backlot in California Adventure.
Dinner: Portobello Mushroom and Couscous Maque Choux at Blue Bayou in Disneyland. The dish has portobello mushrooms marinated in balsamic vinaigrette, broiled and served with roasted corn, bell-pepper couscous and sautéed spinach. $29.99.
Other healthier foods

Bengal BBQ:
Cocina Cucamonga:
Sit-down restaurants:
Ariel’s Grotto, California Adventure: Spinach and ricotta agnolotti with fresh spinach, sun-dried tomatoes, julienne onions and asparagus in a light mushroom broth. The meal includes dining with characters. $36.99 for adults, $20.99 for children.
