You know prior to the 2000s, Mickey did not have any shows on the Disney Channel, while goofy did. Why do you think that is?

Mickey Mouse tracks means new cartoons, there wasn’t anything new until the late 1990s on the Disney channel. Goofy had the spotlight.

If you're basing this whole thread on just new cartoons on the Disney Channel (which by the way you didn't clarify in your original post), then you don't know Disney history. Disney wasn't making Mickey based cartoon shorts for a long period in their history, they stopped making those in 1953. And then started them up again during the 80s-90s, with Mickey starring in other roles like a normal movie star such as Mickey's Christmas Carol, which were then shown on the Disney Channel after their theatrical run. I remember seeing Mickey's Christmas Carol in 1987 on the Disney Channel. So again you're incorrect.

Yes Mickey didn't have a 30 min show of new cartoons like Goofy Troop in the 90s. But it was a different time in The Walt Disney Company. They were focusing less on Mickey and more on other characters, using Mickey as more a mascot or host of a show instead of an actual star in his own show or having him star in feature length films. It wasn't until the recent Mickey Shorts started in 2013 that they decided to focus back on Mickey as a starring character of his own adventures.

There are plenty of books, and plenty of history blogs out there on the subject. My suggestion is to go investigate those sources instead of posting these questions on a Disney fan forum.
