Disney Channel has been showing Despicable Me for the last few days. I'm just surprised to see Disney showing the competitions product I guess.

Disney uses Universal Hollywood's huge movie lot for their films or television shows. They work together, believe it or not.

ABC Family airs the Harry Potter films, complete with advertisements for the Wizarding World of Harry Potter.

Probably not that much. I'd imagine they were part of gettin the films.

Not that surprising, it is family friendly and it is not like this is the first run of the movie on tv.

Universal has the theme park rights to Harry Potter, but Disney has the rights to show it on TV via ABC and ABC Family which a lot of people can only watch via Comcast cable which owns Universal and also is a major carrier of ESPN which is one of Diney's most profitable divisions. The types of relationships are everywhere in the media business.
