I was flipping through the channels while trying to decorate the Christmas tree and happened to stop on the Disney Channel. They showed a picture of Donald and Chip and Dale in the introduction to the cartoon. I called my 30 year old son on the phone and told him to turn it on the Disney Channel to watch the cartoon. When he was little he would sit in front of the t.v. and watch Chip and Dale for hours. I had it taped on VCR (so you know it's old.) Wish they would show more of these classic cartoons.

When I was in school, quite a few years back, they played these shorts during rainy day lunches (elementary days...) and EVERYONE loved them. I can't understand why they don't show these more often... I'd be watching the Disney Channel at 17 if they did... otherwise I must wait and by the extremely expensive Walt Disney Treasures... :/

Not just the classic shorts, but I really wish they'd bring back the "House of Mouse" here and there on occasion. Who knows, make an afternoon of it, with "Duck Tales", "Rescue Rangers" etc., I think you catch the drift!

they should totally play some more of the older stuff, even if it's late night. Who remembers vault disney on at like 11pm? they should totally play the older movies and some cartoons/muppet show etc at night time, especially since they have nothing geared toward an older audience.

The one time I was able to stay past my curfew, I loved every minute of it. :sohappy:

Could it be that the people in charge of the Disney channel are FINALLY doing something right?

This is very cool.

No, that is just impossible. :p

I wish they would show old cartoons late at night, since that seems to be the official time slot reserved for great old-school animations all across the other networks. I know they occasionally show the feature films from the 30s-90s, but I want more old-school Disney.

I am aware most shows on the Disney Channel are not supposed to be appealing to me, but they could at least try to make all kinds of fans happy.

Really nice to see this, even if it's in small quantities. "The Great Vintage Purge" was simply the darkest hour in Disney Channel history (at least until the advent of a little travesty we call That's So Raven).

I agree with the above comments: bring back the classic content after the 11pm eastern hour. The kids are in bed, and their parents want to see Swiss Family Robinson and The Gnome Mobile, not singing and dancing pre-teens.

Okay, maybe not The Gnome Mobile.

This is great to hear...I'd love to see something like vault Disney. I also remember (from way back) a show called Mousterpiece Theatre...not sure if they showed the classic cartoons. BTW...has Disney released and large collection of the classics on DVD? I've only seen the ones for Mickey, Goofy etc...and there's only 5 cartoons on each...?

You mean the "Disney Afternoon" :p

It´s so sad that the Disney Channel here in Brazil has not the same cartoons/movies that plays in the USA.
