then what purpose does Universal Creative serve? Mostly all former imagineers who became frustrated w/ Disney's penny-pinching and lack of job security.

And if this is in reference to the roller coasters, neither Disney nor Universal ever design them. They tell other companies (namely B&M) what they want, the outside companies design/build them, and WDI/UC theme them.

btw-I thought you had left the boards. you have a change of heart?

First... I've always wondered what purpose UC served myself. I'm sure they themed the park, at which they did an amazing job. But when it comes to rides, they pretty much hire outside companies. And yeah... recently Disney has been hiring co. to design the coasters, but in the past WDI did it. (Matterhorn, BTM, Space) And I came back a long time ago... I never really 'left' just took a short break.

>>>An imagineer came up with the track layout and even the idea of using steel for the Matterhorn.<<<

Nope... Walt Disney and Arrow worked together on the Matterhorn. The credit is split 50/50 on this.

>>>the other company simply built the jeeps for them, BIG difference<<<

Intamin OWNS the jeep simulator patents, and worked with Imagineering to design the vehicles (for a bit of trivia, Intamin also designed the "boats" used in Jaws an Universal Studios in Florida and Japan).

"When I finished the bobsled design for Arrow, my boss, Roger Broggie told me to start a track layout to fit inside the "styling shape" of the Matterhorn Mountain model that Fred Joerger had built in the Studio Model Shop."
-Legendary Imagineer Bob Gurr on designing the Matterhorn.

I always wondered what to call the engineers/designers at Universal!

That is a good response to all the people who don't think Universal has Disney magic. It does! They just went to a different place to use it.

I left for the same reasons the imagineers did. I have never been happier.. part time at WDW (what.. you think I wanna pay for an AP?) and Full Time at Universal

That could be good, but considering Disney took a pass on the Lord of the Rings, I don't think they will get much success off of this deal even if HBO kicks out some good shows.

>>>Disney's new show, the Anne Nichole(sp?) show had the best ratings.<<<

It'll die a very quick death (the show sucks ). Whoever checked this show out on it's debut just wanted to see what the fat (drugged) got herself into. Once the shock value wears off, so will the ratings.

>>>Buyers are looking at Disneys 2 sports team which means money for disney.<<<

It won't be nearly enough money. I'll be surprised if Disney even gets a tenth of what they are wanting to sell them for.

dude, you got problems:(
