Hello all!
I didn`t know where I should post this, so mods if it is in the wrong forum, by all means move it! :D
Well when I went to the Magic Kingdom for the first time it was myself my mother and my brother and his family which consisted of his wife, his son and his wifes daughter and 2 sons. Well I remember walking into The Magic Kingdom and seeing the Castle and it was breathe taking and the kids were so excited, but one of the boys told the girl that you just walk through it, you can`t go up into it, she actually wanted to see where the princess lived and we had to let her down by telling her that the rest of the castle is restricted that the Prince and Princess need their privacy too lol and she sat there and cried for about 30 minutes. Well That got me wondering, Why doesn`t Disney make a hotel resort that looks and is decorated like one of the Disney castles, I know they can do it cause in Vegas there is a resort that is built to look like a Castle and if anyone can do it, I know Disney could. I think that would be so awesome, it could be one of their High end priced resorts. Anyone else agree with me and I wonder why Imagineering hasn`t thought of this?

Talk about your 'themed' hotels! Cool idea, Darrel! I know I would stay there! :)
Ya that`s the one I am thinking of! YA something like that but on a much grander scale! They could have one on every Disney park that is differant then their centerpeice castle like in The Magic kingdom in Florida the Castle is Cinderellas castle so have the hotel resort be The Beasts castle from Beauty and the beast or say Sleeping Beauty`s castle The Choices are limitless! :D

It's a great idea, and I would love to stay at something like that. But I don't think Disney would go for it. Think about it, if they make a resort into a castle, it's gonna' be huge. They would not want to make another castle on property that's going to overshadow the Cinderella castle.

Just my 2¢.

Just put it far enough away so that it doesn`t take away from the centerpeice castle, not to mention if you think about it,
in those days that the disney fairy tales are fashioned after it was nothing to have several castles in the same kingdom. Look at Cinderella, Cinderella was raised in an ageing castle and Then the Kings castle.
In Sleeping Beauty they mention the nobility, the genty and the RABELS lol they all had castles.

that would be awesome - if done right - - -

but - i think if they could- they could make the castle a great attraction - go on a tour through cindy's home, and everytime it would be different - with different 'friends' of cindy up there chatting - like the princesses and such - just don't catch cindy and charming with their knickers down...

I´d love that! If that is done in Europe and you stay in old castles -for real-, I am sure Disney can do it. At the same time though, unless they keep it away from Cinderella´s castle, it would probably ruin it for MK. I would love to stay in one though -real or not.... :cool:

There's an off-property hotel somewhere in the vicinity made to look like a castle. It's listed in Birnie.

::goes to find book::

Hey! It's not in here! It was in the 2001 edition, but they don't have any off-property hotels listed at all in the 2003 Birnie!

Well, from my not-so-reliable memory, since I don't have the old book handy... The story goes that a guy took his daughter to WDW (which was just the MK at the time) and she wanted to stay in the castle. Upon finding out that they couldn't, he built a hotel nearby to look like a castle, so that he and others who shared the same wish could stay in a castle when they visited.

They had a small pic of it in the old Birnie, and it wasn't impressive like the Vegas one. It was actually a bit IASW-ish in the colors and 2D feel. But it looked kinda cool.

I don't think Disney would do a castle resort, though. I think they want to keep Cindy's Castle as the one main centerpiece of WDW, and another much bigger hotel castle would definitely detract.
